Seems to have happened very recently, 'cause I only noticed it yesterday. Anyone else have the same prob?

had the most weird problem over the last few days on the GFs PC....

game started freezing every now and then (infinite loop error) , so she started lowering the detail to see if made a difference...

it did... the lower the detail, the quicker the crash! We got it down to 2-3 seconds.

Solution? Ramp everything up to the highest setting... problem solved.

Hah, that's interesting because I did decrease the settings a tad the other night. Guess I'll try what you did and see what happens.

I've seen this before but it mainly happens when I Alt-tab to firefox while I'm on a griffon.

When I come back its either what you've posted or literally rainbow colors.

That said, its probably <5% of the time that it occurs.

What's the ram size (both gpu and system) are you running? Might that be linked with the texture errors?

Obviously this is a result of some patch Blizzard released but having a low amount of ram might help trigger it more often?

512MB system memory, 64MB video. It's obviously not up to par with the times, but I never had this issue in beta and it only popped up within the past two days or so. I have been alt+tabbing a lot and running things like Firefox and IRC in the background, and I'm sure that doesn't help things. I'd get some RAM and a new video card, but there really isn't a point now that everything coming out these days is PCI-E. I might as well save up for a complete system overhaul.

Yup, closed up Firefox and MSN Messenger, everything's back to normal. I probably didn't even need to close messenger. Maybe I could hold out on the system upgrade and just buy some RAM.
