Wow IGN has a weekly video show now.

I agree with this. Actually, the "Hotspot" audio podcast that they put together weekly is actually really good in my opinion. I download a few video game podcasts, including the hotspot and the 1up podcast, and would have to say the gamespot one is my favorite.

Feel the same way. I download the hotspot and the 1up podcast as well, although I prefer the hotspot myself. the IGN podcasts are pretty bad.

Gamespot can do some pretty good stuff, I'll agree on that. I liked the 45 minute NES feature, was very amusing. :)

It's good to get some variety in the type of shows but the IGN one sucks :P

Gamespot = 100% Great game content coverage, 0% funny / entertaining.

1up = 50% Great game content and coverage, 50% funny / entertaning.

IGN = 0% Great game content and coverage, 0% funny / entertaining.

The only good editor there is Jeremy Dunham, his RPG reviews are law, but they need to have him interview / discuss games, not fuckin Chobot for god sakes. And it feels too scripted. 1up is drinking beers and IGN is looking off of a teleprompter.

IGN's game coverage is becoming extremely sloppy and as for their E3 coverage, I don't think I've recovered from being booted off their lousy Nintendo show server. I actually wrote them and got 2 free months of insider but I'm not renewing.

Very different approach from the 1UP Show, with Gamespot's weekly show somewhere in-between in terms of format and presentation.

Although it's obvious which show I prefer, I'm interested in seeing how it all pans out a year from now in terms of video content from "the big 3" ...

I guess. Personally, I'm not at all a fan of the move to TV gaming. It's so boring to watch videogames, even for fans, and it's boring to sit in front of a computer and watch a TV program (I can't sit still, I want to click 30 seconds in.) Combine the two boredoms together and it's deathly.

The 1UP Show is the most clever approach, but that's all I have to say about it (I really don't get GAF's enthusiasm for it, the show is just their source of video reviews and interviews wrapped up in one big-assed download instead of split into files, with cheesy watercooler segments in between), and GameSpot and IGN's shows are just filler TV. I haven't tuned into much of GameTrailer's programs, and that's fine by me. Any one of these programs, it's just money, time and effort directed towards a lost cause.

It's cruel, but the most goodness I've ever gotten out of a videogame video show is that now-gone Nintendo fanboy GameLife show...
