I finally got a new Dreamcast and popped in PSO, NBA2k1, Test Drive Lemans.. and I must say they do hold up quite well. I tried playing MSR and it aged badly compared to PGR3. But NBA2k1... GOOD JOB TO YOU SIR. The face models all look great and other than the GTA3 hands still somewhat eye pleasing.

Yeah the models were very robust for their day..in fact I don't think that they are really that much lighter on the polygons than the models from the recent PS2/X-Box equivalents (which seemed to focus more on effects etc..). Although I'm sure if you compared the crowds/stadiums, 2K1 is probably quite lacking. Some quirks aside, I think the gameplay has held up quite well also.

NBA 2k1 is one of the best basketball simulations ever made, and at the time it was released it was the best. Good times playing that game. My buddies and I used to have a contest to see who could score the most points in a game with Iverson. My best was 72 with 5 minute quarters.
