Great stuff. Too bad they've turned into such a joke.

Not even jesus could make that album good. *vomit*

Man that joke is so worn out. :lol

Okay seriously, Tremonti is a damn fine guitarist and if you can get back the mildly lame lyrics there's a good album here. Please someone agree with me.

Noooo, not you! I meant tt_deeb. I hate Creed even more than I hate Nickleback.

That's bullshit. Nickelback are so much worse since they've never produced a good songs in their life. They are one of my most hated bands ever. Creed has a good album, admit it or not.

yeah, I thought it was pretty much trash. I remember when I first heard about Creed. mind you I was a punk rock/ska kid and it was what, like 1998 or 99? See it used to be easy for punker kids to spot each other cause we were the ONLY ones with peircings and spikes and shit like that. I was in a record store and some band called Creed was about to do an in-store signing and quick concert. I was about 21 at the time but the kids in there wee all peirced and tatted up and had spikes and shit so I was like "who the fuck is Creed? I'm slipping. So I stuck around a bit, then they played a song from the CD. My Own Prison I assume. Then I realize that things had indeed changed and it was now trendy to dress like the kids you made fun of last year. Of course the band and song was trash and I never paid then any bother afterwards.

I left the store and rocked out with some Toy Dolls.

I liked the songs "My Own Prison" and "What's This Life For" when I heard them in what, 1997? And then I liked that part from the song "Higher" from their next album, that little part during the chorus that goes "dunh-dee-dun-dee-diddle-dee" on the guitar.

wtf, I was listening to the samples on Amazon, and the song "What If" sounds exactly like Stone Temple Pilots circa Core.

This stopped being an easy way to identify the punker kids long before 1998. I shit you not.

What the fuck is a punker? I thought that was a word that teen magazines used when they were talking about punks.

I believe, now don't quote me on this, that being a punker is a lot more punk than just being a 'punk'. Just like a punk rocker is a totally shitty rip-off of 'punker rocker' and a rocker is just a lame prick who longs to sing for INXS.

Also, Creed has always been shit to me. Any halfway decent guitar work is quickly overcome by Scott Stapp's (sp) ridiculous Vedder-lite vocals. His self-righteous posturing ("oooh, look at me pretending to be crucified like the son of god! Jeezus Freezus!!") rounds out the whole awful package.

Yeah, cause you want to rely on mass media outlets to define or accurately describe sub-cultures

what does it even mean?!?
Ummm...

I'm gonna assume he liked to get really high and listen to metal music.

He probably is trying to say he's shocked that he didn't die doing a ton of drugs and rocking out.

while creed is bad, clap your hands say yeah is one of those bands that is so awful, it almost shouldn't be considered music.

You hate Creed! Just admit it! You don't consider it music! It's fine!

Me insulting you = totally over your head! I was calling you a poseur. The kids who called themselves punkers when I was a punk weren't real punks. They were skateboarders with studded belts who liked Goldfinger a lot.

Nickelback have lots of good songs, especially from their second record "The State" There are hardly any solid rock bands out there with very hooky thick guitars like they have. I do think their range is pretty limited though, I'd love to see them take a few risks.

Creed has a few good songs but their overall sound is extremely flat and monotone making everything they do sound similar and pretty generic.

I loved Creed's My Own Prison and Nickleback's Curb.

I got bored of both bands after that, but those cd's were great. I haven't listened to them in awhile so I dunno if I'd sill like them or not.

Everytime I think of Nickelback, I think of 50 Cent's "Ja Rule duets" skit, and whoever it is impersonating Ja Rule (I'm assuming 50 Cent) shouting:

"THIS IS HOW...
UHHH..
YOU...
ME...
YOU..

HOOLLAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

:lol

Normally this would bother me, but it's just nickelback.

Yikes. Dude, Creed's My Own Prison is leaps and bounds over anythign Nickelback has done. Fact.

you were in 5th grade when this album came out?

The album came out in 97. I think I graduated elementary school in 99 actually. It seems not that far away but I'm going to be a senior next year.

Torn, Ode, My Own Prison, Pity for a Dime, One: come on this album has some solid songs! I mean are you guys sure you've heard this album?!
