I heard once they've written more mangas that the true ending of the series will be done with a theatrical movie. But thats probably not gonna happen.

I think I've read somewhere that in the TV Guide they said something about the "temporary" leave for Inuyasha... it definitly looks like there's going to be another TV series or OVAs to complete it. btw Inuyasha is still top rated in japan so it's not like they're not making money from it:

^^ that was in may.

My guess is that they're taking a break because they cought up to the manga. It will definitley be back.

Oh and the manga will end this year I think.

Inu-Yasha, like most other anime series, is based off of the manga series, and TV series typically always end before the manga wraps up. (In some cases, long before the manga is over, like with Midori No Hibi and GTO) This also happened with Rumiko Takahashi's previous long-running series, Ranma 1/2. If you want the real story, you need to read the comics. :)

They've been pretty matter of fact that the series "ends" with 166-167. I've seen it quoted and noted as such just about everywhere.

I'm sure they'll constantly be coming back to Inuyasha, and I'm sure they'll finish it off in some manner some time down the road, but for now, Inuyasha is history.
