We had it int he backroom at work for 5 months, yesterday I sold it for $10CDN, and today I found out its worth $90CDN on Ebay!

Arghh >:(

I know that its hard to find on Dreamcast, but not really 'rare'.

I could see the Xbox and PS2 versions becoming quite rare in the future, however.

No shit? I still have my PS2 version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Maybe I should sell it...hrm.
The Dreamcast version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is rare as hell though.

Capcom presumably didn't press a whole lot of copies for the PS2/Xbox versions and didn't do any reprints likely due to activision/EA having the Marvel license now. That's my theory anyways.

Klonoa 2 is very appreciated. Saw a 2nd hand copy for 80€...I have beat it but it's a game that my collection lacks.

Actually, while rare, the Dreamcast version only goes for about 20-35 dollars. Less than the PS2 version, and especially the Xbox version(which is the rarest of all)

I think a lot of those rarity guesses are off. Though a few of them are already accurate.

And are you saying Rent-A-Hero has actually had an english release on Xbox??? And Dinosaur Hunting?

I just looked up MvsC2 on eBay for the DC, I didn't see any exorbitent prices for it.

I don't think it's so much super-rare, as value retaining. I notice the Xbox version goes for ridiculous (comparatively) prices in game stores when it's around. The PS2 version is a little more common.

No, Rent-a-Hero No. 1 was delayed and then never released for the American Xbox. The import version is tough to get, however.

But yeah, you won't be finding any 'Radiant-Silvergun'-ish prices for most of these games. Rez and Resident Evil 2 may be the only two exceptions. But after the PS2, GC, and Xbox are long gone, many of the less common games become quite valuable.

Yea, I'm sure you're right. I know how much trouble I had trying to replace a dumb copy of Gotcha Force recently. And RE4 probably makes the other RE's on the Cube that much worse to find. Gitaroo Man was a bitch, etc.

I was just suddenly hyped that you mentioned Rent A Hero and Dinosaur Hunter, but I'm not much interested in Xbox imports.

My local mom and pop video game store has a machine that cleans the disc up andmakes it look like new. It's a $5 service.

MvsC2 wasn't and isn't rare...

I grabbed 5 copies out of the $4.99 bin at Circuit city a few months ago. My guess is it all depends where you're located.

You can probably find copies of PDO floating around right now. But since there's only around 130,000 copies and it's currently out of print, I see it becoming a tough find in the future.

I wonder how many copies a game has to sell before it can become a Greatest Hits title?

It can be hard to find. I found it for $45 canadian and I thought "nah, I'll wait till I find it for cheaper". Looking at EBay, I discover that the price was pretty fair and snached it up a few days later. Seems like a good buy.

My only problem is the increasing price of art and costumes. Do I really have to beat the game 2 times to unlock one costume?

If I'm remembering my Dreamcast version, you'll probably end up beating the game another 30 times to unlock everything.

I think there was a way you could cheat, though. Like, leave the game running on Training mode or something like that?

Yeah but you gotta wait like 8 hours to get 9999 points. Sounds good, but by the time you're trying to get the last few costumes or artworks, that's only good for 2! I'm not leaving my xbox on for 8 hours for artwork for Dan and to play as Cyclops in a grey uniform.
