wtf, Tekken 5 coming next week?!

Where have you been? :D

They moved the release date up again after pushing it back to 3/15, and 2/25 is now the final release date. The question is, will stores have the game in stock on 2/25 (early shipping and then they hold it in the back until release), or will it ship on 2/25, which is a FRIDAY? Not every store would be getting Saturday delivery if that's the case.

Definitely going to be pre-paying for this one...I suspect they will only be selling to pre-orders around here.

Yet so little hype.

I think Namco should fire the entire Marketing department. With this and releasing Ace Combat V on the same day as GTA SA I think its time for a change.

Yeah I know.

**** JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE***** ( i know amazing)

Guy at Babbage's told me GT4 is confirmed for the 23rd next week. Still taking pre-orders to get the game on the 23rd.

Also, Tekken 5 is confirmed for 26th next week.

Just passing the info along. :)

i'm happy, but i'm sad.

happy because i can't wait for the fucking game, but i'm sad for namco. who's bright idea was it to change release date like this without properly announce it? I wasn't even aware of this until today, and the game's coming out next week. And why are they releasing it next to GT4?! Are they hoping to make this game bomb or something?

My wallet is also very, very sad. GT4, Tekken 5, PSP, God of War :(

Acklame, it's not like Tekken 5 is in the same genre as GT4; it's going to appeal to a completely different crowd.

Yay!! Another person bitching about no online. Who the hell cares?

Clearly those of us bitching out it do. :lol

But I wouldn't buy it anyway. I find the GT games boring.

God I haven't played a fighter in like..3 years now.

Tempted to pick this up again for old times sake though, especially since friends keep telling me that Tekken5 feels more like old school Tekken rather than whatever direction Tekken4 was trying for.

However, at this point GT4 takes priority next week though.

Namco doesn't really need to advertise Tekken 5 like crazy right out of the gate. Everyone who is likely to buy the game right after it comes out (i.e. people who play it at the arcades) already know when it is coming out. Besides, if they hold off on advertising it until mid-late March they might be able to trick some casuals into thinking it just came out and that will help them get a nice boost in March after the GT4 buzz starts to die down.

Namco isn't sending the game out for reviews. :)

Not quite sure why. Having played it, I don't think it'd score terribly.

GT4, Tekken 5 in the same week. Something is going to have to get traded in.

I probably can wait on GT4 though.

That Hori stick that comes with the Tekken collectors edition...anyone know if it is a four button stick, a 6 button, or an 8 button?

How the &%*$ is online gaming a fad? It adds incredible replay value to just about any title. T5 and GT4 should definetly have online play..especially GT4! there's really no excuse for it.

Are there any more details on the collector's edition? This whole 5-disc collection thing with every game included sounds REALLY nice to me. I want to see a pic of it.

Damn, GameStop's site is slow. I guess that silver box includes TTT and T1-4?

You don't get the old games though. You just get a box to keep them in as far as I could tell.

From the EB description... pay close attention...

The bundle includes: Tekken 5, a Hori customized controller and a special six-disc collectors DVD case for storage of all games in the Tekken franchise.

You will not receive all the old games.
