my friends home page chak it ok bye

Got that in yahoo messenger from someone who swears they have no idea what the heck went on there, and also requested an audio chat right afterwards. Seeing as how I know this person, and know they wouldn't be lying about this...wtf is up with this.

It could be a worm-like thing on your friend's machine. Similar things exist that kind of take over AIM clients, so I wouldn't be too shocked.

Contact your friend and ask if they actually sent the URL.

They said they didn't send it...so, uh, how would they go about fixing this? :p

Run a virus scanner, I guess. Given how shifty things have gotten thanks to holes in Windows, I know I keep mine active in the background, always scanning files that are saved and created.

Plus, my firewall uses a whitelist. Nothing gets out without it running around like a headless chicken.

Yahoo bought Geocities years ago.

Well, that's really not the point. A webpage on Geocities shouldn't be prompting you for a Yahoo user ID/password. If it is, it's some douchebag fishing for accounts.

(I'm just making an educated guess, fuck if I'm clicking that link.)

Thanks, both of you.

I do not have a Yahoo account, so nothing to steal or hijack. I payed $60 for this AVS, might as well use it.
