WTF was Æon Flux about

I remember seeing is as part of the shorts that Bevis and Butthead came out of but, what was it about. I just thought it looked cool but, other than that I got nothing out of it.

That was the first time I ever saw anime-like cartoons. I remember thinking how gross it looked seeing them lick each other :D

IIRC I remember reading somewhere that it was about Aeon and her doctor....Aeon being in reality a mental patient and her doctor being idolized in her mind as the evil dictator of her Matrix-like dreamworld. There was a love-hate relationship between the two of them.

Set in a sort of Orwellian world, she was a Monican spy. Something to do with Trevor, leader of the other side. Just watch the show, its on mtv2oons all the time.

I always thought an Aeon Flux format would have made for the perfect setting for a Metroid cartoon. Except instead of dying in each episode the hook would be Samus gaining a power up. The shorts could occur non sequentially so that sometimes she would just have all of these abilities but you wouldn't see the event that led to its retrieval untill later.

Aeon Rarely talked which would work, and it could be dark, moody, have great action set pieces etc. Would be really fun IMO.

Now, the Maxx was much more to my tastes.

Oh man, I forgot about the Maxx. That did rock. Once Aeon started speaking, it was all downhill. The Liquid TV spots rocked.

What was that love short with the dolls/marionettes? It was the adventures of this tough biker chick on the road searching for her man. I remember it was funny.

Æon Flux, Liquid Television, the Maxx, Beavis and Butthead.... all from the golden age of MTV Animation. My how the giant has fallen.
