WWE 2K15 First Footage and Gameplay changes

Welp.

As much as people harp on IGN, they definitely got a raw deal here.

2K: "Hey, want exclusive info on our game and the chance to highlight it for a month?"

IGN: "Sure!"

2K: "OK. *signs contract* Oh, btw, we won't answer any of your questions or give you any gameplay footage."

IGN: D:

If they're delaying giving gameplay assets to media 1&1/2 - 2 months before release, there's no way this game ISN'T delayed.

If the contract about them having to release the game now is true, we might just be treated to one mess of a game unless they are allowed to delay only the next gen versions of the game.

We might just have a Battlefield 4 on our hands.

Where'd you hear that?

It was a rumour going around at the start of the year. 2K wanted to push the game back to Wrestlemania for the best marketing and to give them extra time, but WWE allegedly said no and it has to be out at the normal time.

Since the last gen version should just be the usual coat of paint, I doubt that would be affected.

Let me preface this with the fact that I have no idea how thq and yukes operated in the past, but what are the chances that 2k has a second team working on 2k16 to allow for 2 years of development time ala CoD?

Is that true? Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't remember Mike Tyson being purchasable DLC in WWE 13, nor the Rock in WWE 12.

Now we're in a WHOOOOLLLEE NEWWWW WORRRRLD of 2k and Warrior went up in January.

Not how they do sports games, so unlikely I think.

No chance...that's what ya got

Haha this made me smile this morning.

Hmm I was really excited about this game but hearing how they are not giving gameplay footage and that they are basically performing a rush job makes me think that I should maybe wait for next years game. I pre-ordered this but can always move the money over to dragon age and just pick that up instead. I would like a wrestling game, but if this is an half assed game I don't want to pay 60$ for it on launch day.

Yeah I have the Hulkamania edition preordered and I think I'm gonna pass. There's too many bad vibes coming from it to pay $100 for something that clearly isn't finished.

I don't know why they won't release gameplay. It was playable at gamescom and surely some direct feed gameplay they spliced together would look better than off screen footage.

No way there will be a delay. That's not what game companies do nowadays. They will just ship a train wreck and patch the ugliest issues months later.

For what it's worth, 2K is notoriously stingy with gameplay. They did the same thing with NBA 2K14 last year for next gen. It could be another one of those situations I suppose. With that said, this just seems like a rush job.

what?? do you live in an alternate universe?? just about every game is delayed these days..

Even the most hated company EA delayed Battlefield Hardline and canceled their NBA game 3 years in a row because it was shit and people saw it.

I guess you didn't play that abysmal shit known as SD v Raw 2008. Nothing gets delayed in WWE gaming world.

Pre-ordering is madness at the best of times, but anyone who keeps this game on their pre-order list is asking for trouble. This is not the kind of marketing you want to support.

WOW, 2K doesn't want to release gameplay footage yet they had the game playable on Gamescom... is there total confusion over at 2K about this game? where they just waiting to see what the reaction was from the very blurry off-screen footage from gamescom to decide about NOT showing direct feed gameplay through their IGN First thingamabob? WTH 2K?!?

Isn't 2k notoriously stingy with releasing videos of their games until it's time for release?

I remember it happening with Bret Hart one year, as well as the Warrior last year. I believe it also happened with the special Undertaker edition that had ABA BikerTaker.

They are, which is why the chicken little talk is unfounded. The game was playable at Gamescom and wasn't a broken mess. People who have hands-on with it have given favorable impressions. This is just how 2K
stupidly
operates.

Putting this game out during Mania time would not only give it more time in the oven but also a better hype cycle, how does WWE not see this? does the company not care at all?

I think it would make sense with the Network now being a thing, but in previous years probably would've been a bad idea (ie: having to shell out for the most expensive ppv of the year and the game, if you're a gamer). I wonder if they will include a free trial of the Network with these games.. would seem like another way to promote it and get more people to try it out.

Saw this posted over at r/squaredcircle. 100 percent identical animations to last year.
Randy Orton entrance - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XNRZsfFOV0
Goldust entrance, which is even more out of date - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yp-8HOVC8GM

I guess for those looking forward to this game will have to hope they just didn't bother updating the entrances, but the in ring stuff is fresher. Personally, I'm hardly surprised and will continue not getting these games until another team is allowed to take over development of the series from Yuke's.

All I care about is getting a newer roster, good legends and more options in universe. I skipped last year's since I traded in my 360.

I had no problems with '13's game play overall. Hoping at worst it plays like that.

Let's be honest, who really cares about the entrances? I turn that shit off as soon as I can.

I'd like the entrances if they were a bit more dynamic. Wrestlers should have multiple entrances depending on scenarios, like a rival opponent, at their home town, are a face/heel, if it's goddamn Wrestlemania, etc.

"I-It's a completely different game guys! We don't have gameplay proof of this and its due for release in a month and a half, but you gotta believe me!"

To be fair, Miz got a Wreslemania entrance last year...
