WWE 2K15 First Footage and Gameplay changes

It's a good thing if they've attempted to make wrestler AI not do things the wrestler wouldn't do. It's something they had in SvR 2008 and I have no idea why they removed it.

Other forums are saying: CHAIN GRAPPLING CAN BE TURNED OFF!! Good news for people who didn't like the look of it.

Also, wrestlers like Big Show and Lesnar won't do chain grapples with each other since it's not part of their normal repertoire.

They kept the worst parts of the previous games and added new parts that are equally horrible. Thanks guys.
 
I have to believe the pin sliding bar, reversal system, and now this chain grappling mechanic have to have been invented by a dominatrix looking to inflict pain on its paying clients.
 
As a gesture of goodwill they would be wise to at least offer the non-Season Pass DLC for free this year.

They should probably offer up Paige for free as well.

2K14 Universe mode is still hilariously absurd at times. Just destroyed Undertaker as Wade Barrett, leading to Stephanie McMahon to come out and stare me down.
 
I'm actually digging the stamina meter, especially the changed animations for when you're low on it. The crawling over mechanic is good. HOWEVER, the chain grapple system is something I'd immediately turn off.

Lastly, 2K14 question. I've never gone through Universe Mode, I only did two matches to get the achievements. Does it have cutscenes and stuff or is it just one match after another?

I tried this mode on 14. It seemed fucking pointless. Just match after match and when you tried to make alliances by helping someone or interfering they would just be forgotten the next week.
 
Universe mode is great in theory, but I usually end up doing my own thing and just making my own bookings with WCW, WWE and ECW shows with monthly PPVs.

The only good thing I've heard about last gen 2k15 is that Universe mode is better of keeping track of itself, so hopefully that does carry over.

2k14 is only capable of booking three feuds at once per major show. If you do a run-in, you may be added to the enemy list of the person you ran in on, but the game won't actually do anything about it until one of the three ongoing feuds ends, at which point it'll usually re-book that feud instead of booking a new one based on how you and your opponent are on each other's enemy list.

Minor shows in 2k14 seem incapable of booking based on the ongoing feuds, so they work like WWE '12 and '13 universe mode where there's a big stipulation match and a storyline twist every week. Unfortunately, since that big story twist (usually "megagroup forms") isn't part of a feud on the major show, the game immediately forgets it and re-does it the next week.
 
Yeah, 3 rivalries per show is bullshit, but I suppose it's true to the tv product.

Also Big E is Undisputed champ on Smackdown, and just did a heel beat down on a face Triple H after squashing him in the main event.

Oh and Steph has joined Taker's side as his love interest.
 
Local mom and pop store said they were getting it tomorrow. Kind of wish I didnt preorder the digital deluxe now.

Oh well, he said he was only getting in 3 copies for the ps4, so chances of snagging one were slim anyways.

Yeah, I could probably get my hands on one Friday but I have a digital version on order.

Universe mode is all I play and I, for better and worse, let the CPU book everything. I really hope that they've improved it this year.
 
I'm hoping that guy is legit about streaming tonight. I'd like to see some different match types like a HIAC match. Gameplay looks exactly the same as the old games, so the only bright spot seems to be the improved graphics, which are still poor. Maybe they need to darken the crowd or make them 2D so they can spend more power on what matters.

Everything is motion captured now, actual people are taking the hits so it can't be over the top (or, for that matter, can't reliably show the differences between individual performers). Mocap has been wrong for wrestling games ever since Acclaim was trying it.

This guy was saying he fucked up his HDMI port earlier. I don't quite believe he's legit.

ok i've ran into a bit of a problem, the hdmi port on the back of the ps4 has came loose making the screen flash every few seconds, spoke to a guy tonight saying he can fix it tomorrow morning.

i was so getting into ufc match and i some what pulled the connected controller pulling the cable which resulted in the console jerking forward pulling out the hdmi part.

will have it fixed for tomorrow (sorry if you where enjoying that match ) lol

No mo-capped animation makes it into a game unedited. It's just a starting point. Yukes could always take that starting data and make it more impactful or even more individualized for different wrestlers if they wanted to.

Yup. The closest to raw MoCap we've ever had was Attitude. Poor Hardyz, they really did MoCap some poor power moves, not that it was their fault really.

Yeah I think the lack of effort definitely shines through. Also a lack of passion and enthusiasm about the product they are making. There is always next year. Let's hope 2k is making a new game on the side and Yukes won't be there.
