WWE Elimination Chamber '17 |OT| Wait, Another PPV Already?

While we're talking chamber matches, I'm gonna quickly plug that the 2014 one (Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Cesaro, Christian and Sheamus) was one of the few modern chamber matches that's actually pretty damn good.

The sheer abundance of the match did a lot to dilute the fun of them leaving everything from 2005 onwards (the first signs of filler chambers what with Carlito and Chris Masters) as something of a blur, especially with two in one night more often than not.
Heck I just refreshed my memory on them and aside from discovering that tonights chamber will be the twentieth one that there was that tag team one back in 2015 that I completely forgot.

2008's Triple H, Jeff Hardy, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, Umaga and JBL one was pretty good as well if I recall but that may be my Umaga bias seeping in.

Looking forward to this. Elimination Chamber matches started after my time, so I've never seen one.

Help a brudda out, ppl. What are some good EC matches?

the one where RVD jumps on the cage like Spider-Man back when he was having his good WWE run was alright

The original from 2002 is still the gold standard I feel, even if HBK has the worst attire possible.
Pretty much everyone in the match had been feuding with HHH in that year so that was a kind of fun aspect to the match.

Sometimes chamber matches end up standing out in part because a particular one on one matchup contained within, 2009 has Edge and Mysterio in one and Trips and Taker in the other elevating an otherwise simply okay chamber match.

For some more modern matches, well check the post above yours.

Can't wait for the late Vince swerve of
Bray not winning
to piss off internet marks

Hold the fuck up, people actually tricked themselves into thinking that? I love wrestling fans, so optimistic, so delusional!

Edit: This is part sarcasm, assuming that's from a rumor or something, but man.

Remember that time Jack Swagger won the EC out of absolutely nowhere? he'd been a non factor for years and then after being pencilled in as sixth person filler he gets the shock win leading to a dud of a mania match against the equally as ho-hum Del Rio.

Well it still feels like one of the only two viable options with potential mania plans in mind.

Well when they debuted the elimination chamber pay per view in 2010 only 3 matches got 4stars from Meltzer

Both in 2011 and the one in 2013.

oh also, if you want to watch a truly fucked up EC, watch the one with Triple H and Goldberg on it, where the crowd is HOT AS FUCK for Goldberg, he finally comes in, destroys everyone, and then Triple H hits him with the sledgehammer and retains the title LOL. Worth watching just for the complete deflation of a entire arena.

It was one of the most baffling booking decisions I have ever seen in the WWE, the push they are giving 'Berg now is the push they should have given him back THEN when he could still go, but for whatever reason (well we know the reason, pettyness) they didnt.

No one wants Bray to win

Everybody wants him to win if only to avoid Cena v Orton for the 11449003th time. Stop gimick posting Hero :(

What's the point of having ECs, Cages and HIACs matches when the wrestlers aren't allow to bleed?

The only Cage match that was amazing without blood was Kurt Angle vs Benoit which happens to be my favorite Cage match of all time.

Placing my bets on Orton beating Harper, interfering in the chamber match to give Bray the title win and THEN he turns on Bray giving him a chamber based beatdown.
Cue master plan promo from Orton on Smackdown where he will go on to defeat Bray once and for all on the grandest stage etc...

A tag team turmoil is the perfect place for a debut for sure.

When I consider that the last EC match was also pretty much shit this makes more sense.
Kane will interfere five minutes in and break both men, taking Orton's title shot for one last run. He will beat Bray at mania and unify both titles at SummerSlam defeating Goldberg.

I still don't understand why they didn't do a Women's Elimination Chamber for the SD women's title. Shane and DBry can promote it as "They did HIAC? Well we'll have an Elimination Chamber!!!" and we'd be spared from three separate pee-break matches (well, Becky vs. Mickie should be good.)

This has been the story of Bray Wyatt since he got called up from NXT.

No way. He was destined to lose the Cena feud. He was never gonna beat Roman. He did beat Dean multiple times.

This is the only time that it really seems like a logical possibility.

This PPV would be an hour and a half long if all the women were in the Chamber.

WWE are also said this is a new chamber tonight. In fact, they only said it once, and kinda under their breath, but they did say it.

I wonder what "new" means to WWE?

Did they paint it blue?

What's the point of having ECs, Cells and HIACs matches when the wrestlers aren't allow to bleed?

The only Cell match that was amazing without blood was Kurt Angle vs Benoit which happens to be my favorite cell match of all time.

You mean Cage match? There never was a hiac match between Angle and Benoît.

Typically chamber matches weren't often a bastion of blood as far as I recall, in general dudes getting slammed on the steel section is more than enough to sell the whole deadly match angle....oh and the umm "glass" I suppose.
Certainly stands out more that cage and HiaC matches these days, now those could often use a bit of blood.
Man it feels wrong saying that last bit.

This is a great way to swerve the sheets.

someone in the UK confirm that this starts at the usual 1am and not midnight like the Rumble fuckery?

I don't think I'm going to resubscribe for this card.

The best time to resubscribe - if WWE does not offer another free opportunity to you - would be just before Fastlane (March 5). You then get access to Fastlane, TakeOver: Orlando and WrestleMania 33 for the price of one subscription period.

This is (at most) a three hour PPV, so it is the usual time. If for some reason you want to watch the Pre-show. It will be on at midnight on Youtube and other places.

Rumble actually started at 10PM if you count the pre-show
