But anyways, I've always stood by the idea that spending money on porn is probably the worst use of money. Why would anyone pay for porn?
Legal GAF, would this argument hold up in court?
"You can't have known my IP was involved in the download or distribution unless you endorsed distribution of the torrent either by torrenting it yourself or hiring someone else to. Ergo, distribution was endorsed by your company, and thus any usage of the torrent I did was permissible."
If that is actually your defense, you might as well write them a check for $150k right now.
Once again, if no one pays for porn no one is going to make it. They don't shoot videos out of the goodness of their hearts.
Oh bullshit. This is like the record industry threats. There are plenty of people that will make porn for practically nothing, or actually nothing. We won't have as much quantity or variety and the quality would be shaky at best, but there will always be porn no matter what. Just like music.
What's the average budget for a porn? I can't understand why you can rent a $150M Hollywood movie for $3 through your cable company, but a porn that probably cost $25K at most is available to rent for $14.99.
One federal judge has compared its lawsuits to an “extortion scheme”
writing that many defendants, whether they committed copyright infringement or not, would rather settle than face the costs and potential embarrassment of fighting their cases. It is hard to see why anyone facing such a suit would choose not to settle: hiring a lawyer costs more than settling, and damages are exponentially higher in the event of a loss at trial. Plus, no one wants to be publicly accused of stealing pornography. To avoid embarrassment, many defendants may choose to settle before Malibu Media names them in a complaint.
Let's say it was absolutely impossible to pirate porn or get it without paying. It seems like X-Art is what a lot of porn companies are trying to emulate nowadays.
But anyways, I've always stood by the idea that spending money on porn is probably the worst use of money. Why would anyone pay for porn?
Of course there will always be porn. It costs next to nothing for two people or one person to make. However as the cash evaporates the amount goes down. I'm not arguing this. I'm saying that SOMEONE is paying for it because it keeps getting made and at quality levels that the major sites provide. It is silly to question what the point is. The point is someone is spending money on it for it to get made in the first place so you can stream it off one of many sites that seem to not mind it getting streamed.
In terms of music. So many musicians dream of making it big, or at least build a sustainable lifestyle from it. As a result there will always be music, and lots of it as the whole industry is driven by hopes and dreams. I'm not sure porn has the same analog.
Because the paying market for it is far smaller than something like Frozen. The more niche the thing you like it the more expensive it actually should be.

Would you pay for it?
Except Prenda didn't even hold the copyrights for many of the properties they were suing over. So, then, Prenda Law, round 2?
Simple, stream the videos for free on their own tube site and make money from advertisers.
That way customers can watch instantly without waiting for downloads and also don't need to keep the files on their hard drives.
Make it easier than stealing and people won't steal.

X-Art does find some pretty gorgeous ladies.
A whole year's subscription for X-art is 480$, that's 68,5 months of Netflix at 7$ a month.
I love porn and want them to make good money, but spending that much money would just make me reconsider using my imagination.

I think that kind of a subscription falls under "obscene luxuries." But I suppose if you are REALLY picky...
am I missing something?

Personally I think it's a bit of a chicken and the egg scenario though: by charging a heck of a lot for it they drive away people who would otherwise be interested.
Too much of the porn industry seems to be unable to get away from rather old fashioned ways of doing business. How about giving people more varied options, such as letting people buy individual scenes for reasonable prices rather than having to pay out a large amount every month for everything? If DLC and free to play games have taught us anything it's that people are more likely to spend more if they pay in bite size chunks. Plus, charging for individual scenes could help improve the product since sales figures will show what customers like best.

Most of the guys just aren't attractive. They've had a Grey Worm lookalike for the past few videos.
X-Art is boring.
95 replies and 2 or 3 are actually about the article in the OP. The rest are an opinion on x-art's "movies" with no mention of their trolling.
