XBL: Games with Gold

Actually they should do just this for fucking up and not releasing the whole trilogy!!... i mean PS4 owners are getting all 3 Uncharted games in one HD remastered pack...but yet again us XB1 owners get shafted!!! I bet they try and charge full price or near enough for the game as well

How are were getting shafted?

Gears is about multiplayer and campaign, you're getting both for that. No-one is getting "shafted" even if it is only Gears 1.

Halo CEA on 360 was $40, I bet Gears 1 is the same.

Theres a reason they didn't include the multiplayers in the UC Collection but MS did for Halo and Gears, any suggestions?

When it comes to Gears of War on XB1, a very reliable little birdy told me that it's more Halo CE Anniversary than it is a remaster as far as a facelift goes.

MCC (5 games)
Gears (1 game)

TLoU (1 game)
GoW 3 (1 game)
NDC (3 games)

Seems almost even so far.

Now with backwards compatibility, I really hope they make most GwG games available to play on Xbox One.

Historically would be nice, but should be default going forward.

I hope that beginning from now on they make sure a xbox 360 title is Backward compatible if they realease it as an Games with Gold title :-)

Would be cool this way !

The Gears Beta, Free EA Access and all it's games for a week, and the 2 Early Preview games "The Long Dark" and "Elite Dangerous" all came along with E3, as well as the announcement of Backwards Compatibility. That opens up a lot of avenues that could be utilized for "Games With Gold" in the future.

I wonder if those things could be utilized early (such as making next months 360 GWG compatible with XB1 too), or if we'll have to wait until the last quarter of the year to see some potential. I wouldn't mind some free passes to "Game Preview" titles, or releases of entire game series (Xbox 360 and XB1 updates) all coming as packaged GWG bundles on some months.

So any chance they will make all GWG 360 games BC going forward so we can get 360/one games every month for free?

GwG has nothing to do with BC.

And BC wont be out until October for the general public. It still needs a lot of testing, especially the more demanding games (i hope they unlock more games this week)

What do you mean by nothing? What's to stop 360 games on Xbox one? (Free each month)

MS still has to make a deal with publishers to make a game GWG though, why not get approval to enable BC while you're at it?

Early PS+ was big for Sony, MS has an opportunity to repeat that for next gen, even though the games are older/on last gen, the quality difference between 360 & X1 gwg these days is night and day. It'd be an amazing move for MS if they'd only allow your game to go GWG if you allow BC but it makes zero sense not to allow it, considering the whole reason those games will be on GWG is to make more money off it, why not enable it for X1 users aswell?

That said tbh I think we'll see MS lead the helm here, so my guesses for GWG will go to Alan Wake & Halo Wars and enabled for BC.

I'm actually more excited for GwG now that there's a chance the 360 games could work on Xbox One. It would be really smart if MS required (or at least strongly encouraged) the publishers of the 360 games to make them backwards compatible on X1.

It seems a no brainer that backwards compatible enabled 360 games will help flesh out the Games with Gold for Xbox One owners. However I expect that won't be the case until it's available for everyone, unless they want to test it with preview members.

If they are going to test out BC with preview members using GWG hopefully we get Pool Nation for the 360 this month.

Still hoping for Korra or Shadow Warrior for XB1. 360 is anyones guess at this point, but I really want Shadows of the Damned or Lollipop Chainsaw.
