XBL: Games with Gold

I was going to wait for thief to be 2-3 bucks on steam before I tried it. I know it's been reviewed badly, so I guess I'll go in with no hopes.

The Van Helsing coop is disappointing after playing Diablo 3 with a full local team. Still of the dungeon crawlers with GWG, this one is the best.

Played Castlestorm when it was on the One. Decent for an afternoon but is really shallow and overstays its welcome in the campaign.

Um....what?

I don't know why Max is back though but it's showing for me too on smart glass, maybe they're adding that as a bonus game like the 360 has but it wasn't there in Major Nelson's announcement so who knows

Not sure if it's available on the web as I've already purchased it last time it was GWG. Still one of the best GWG's to date so if you missed it last time I definitely recommend getting it this time around.

It was on GWG some time ago, so it seems an unusual 'spontaneous gift' in that regard, given many users will have it from that!

Yeah. Something seems off about that...

It might have something to do with the BC list being so small when it comes to semi meaningful games... :P

The worst thing about that list to me is KI S1, ok yeah supposedly it's a good game and it'll be cross buy with PC... but it just feels so cheap to give away what's essentially DLC. It'd be like League of Legends coming to consoles then Riot giving away 1 free champion as a replacement for a game. Just doesn't sit right with me.

I'm really glad that there's a trend to at least include one brand new game (even if its mixed reception). Owning all the other games would make the month kind of a letdown, despite all of the games being excellent.

I'm liking it too. I don't always download the new ones but I have really enjoyed a few of them. Especially Massive Chalice. That game was awesome.

Dude, you just don't know! It's one of the best fighting games out right now. It's netcode is hands down the best. If you at least try season one you'll be hooked! I can't sing it's praises enough! It's also the business model I think all fighting games should follow. No more dividing the player community with a "Super Ex Alpha Turbo Championship Give Us Your God Damn Money Edition" that comes out 9 months after the first game.

Actually, this consideration makes no sense. They are giving you a full beat'em up with 8 fighters, that's it.

In addition, it is a wonderful game.

Kind of surprised that a KI season took this long to be on Games with Gold, honestly.

And it's the Ultra Edition, so in addition to the first year's worth of characters and cosmetics, you're also getting the original arcade game as well. Good for a nostalgia trip, though it has aged quite a bit.

Well all the people that were upset about season 1 not being on sale a few weeks ago should be happy now. Hopefully it leads to a nice influx of players going into season 3.

No hate from me about the game, I'm aware it's well received. I tried the free version out and thought it was ok but I'm not into fighters. I know it's a good pick for most people and hell, in a way I even agree since if it's a good fighter then more players is always a good thing and it's an even better deal with crossplay and crossbuy with PC just around the corner... but as I said, it still feels like a very cheap way to give away a free game. I just hope this doesn't become a trend and we end up getting a ton of DLC from other games. GWG should be exactly that.. Games with Gold, not DLC with Gold.

Awesome about killer instinct, but I wish I could play with a stick. I guess it is still very much playable until I get it on the PC next year. I tried the free version with Sabrewulf so it is going to be exciting to play more characters.

I had way more fun playing Sacred 3 on 360 than Van Helsing, even though Sacred 3's story and stuff is super cheesy (all the jokes feel way out of place lol) it just feels more immediately accessible for pick up and play gameplay.
