XBL: Games with Gold

Awesome!


Thought they would make them free during the E3 show as that would be a pretty cool thing to do. Nice that they've made them free now though :D
 
Just finished downloading Spartan Assault and Max, and installation failed with an installation incomplete message for both of them. anyone else have this error?
 
Go to download my new games. 1.7 gb update!

The rate they are pushing out these updates is great but it is getting tiresome considering half the time I turn the console on I have to update...

Then put it in instant on and let it download the updates while you sleep.
 
It might be possible that the games are only playable for people in the preview program since this may require the June update.

Just tried, and I can uninstall. Did you try hovering over the game icon in your Games section, pressing Start and selecting uninstall?

I just re-downloaded it from the store game page. Trying to re-download now, I'll update when its finished.

UPDATE: Tried re-downloading and they still aren't installing. Has anyone installed these properly yet that isn't in the June update preview program?

Well yeah. We flip a switch and turn off the power. Saves energy and shit. And its obviously not going to fuck any thing up. I've been doing this since launch and have had no issues, also MS aren't going to allow a basic thing like turning the power off at the wall damage the console when it's turned off.

You know "instant on" means that it isn't really turned off? If you cut the power while the console happens to be installing a system update you could potentially brick your console. Just put it in energy-saving mode so that it actually turns off instead of going to connected standby. Makes it safe to cut the power.

Even if you keep it in instant on mode you should really hold the power button down before cutting the power so that it turns off for real first (power brick light turns orange).
 
Im getting 0x87de07dc error everytime I try to install it. Is that the error that you guys are talking about?

What may it be? Thats strange. And I just signed a Live Gold for it. LOL
I would sign anyway, but would do it next week, since its when I'll receive my salaray.

I realise this and again I've been doing this since launch and have had no issues.

I will start making sure it's turned off properly though. They should include a software button to switch it completely off rather than just setting it to always completely turn off. The amount of time it takes to turn on from a cold boot is ridiculously long...
