Xbox 1 games enhanced for 360?

Commander_Zorg

that UKR wanker
Of all the games due out on Xbox and Xbox 360, have any of the 360 versions got upgraded features and content?

All I can find is boats of "bump mapping" and "dynamic lighting" being added. Which sucks.

Is anyone adding "new stuff" for the 360 versions?

Like, even just a few exclusive online modes or something? If not, they SHOULD.

AFAIK King Kong is the only PS2/Xbox/GC game that got a good enough upgrade for the 360 version. It really looks and moves better, while still being the same game content-wise of course.

Xbox 360 games are basically enhanced xbox 1 games.

That depends on what you mean by enhanced?

Remember this is only the 1st Christmas that X360 will be out, so alot of multiplatform games will only offer minor upgrades in graphics and sound.

I came into this thread expecting discussion of "the list" of games that'll be BC with the hard drive.

It's a month to launch and we still don't have a single confirmed game that'll be BC.

It leads me to guess none will.

That would be pretty shitty/funny. The launch comes and there's like.. Tony Hawk and FIFA.

And everything else gets delayed a couple months.

I'm pretty sure Microsoft will be working overtime to get that list of BC games as lengthy as possible. Releasing a smaller list of working titles a month to launch does virtually nothing for them but help validate some forum posters pre-order choices.

I have a feeling the list will be fairly large, somewhere in the 30% range on launch day. Hey! That makes me want a betting thread on BC percentages!

Shit. That just couldn't end well.

Reminds me of the Aliens vs Predator tagline: "Whoever wins... We Lose"

IIRC, some time back MSFT hired one of the leading emulator programmers in the world. I imagine he and his team has gotten something done by now. I would expect some of the bigger titles to be supported right off the bat, with others coming as time goes by.

The building I work in also houses Siemens Westinghouse as well as ATI Research. A couple of the guys there have given us information before that always turns out true a few weeks later. Our office is in Research Park across from UCF in Orlando. This is what some of them have told us:

The emulator is called Fuzion (not sure if it's an internal name or the official). 3 games should be ready for launch Halo, Halo 2 (which are already in certification) and Fable which is testing now. Basically since the ATI chipset has to re-render everything, yes there are enhancements. I'm not sure about 720p...but while chatting with the ATI guys in the break/smoking area, they said that the texture pop in and muddled textures in Halo 2 are gone.

A couple of weeks ago they let us see and touch a 360 unit, we haven't gotten a chance to play it yet.

Wow, a whole 3 games? Good job MS.

I think the list on launch day should be more. I hope so.

If Halo 2 runs on the Xbox 360 without the pop-up textures...I play through the single-player again just to thank Bungie for fixing that. Those were beyond annoying.

3 games at launch would be a slap in the face.

Yet I don't exactly doubt this might be true. :lol

If those 3 games were Outrun 2 / Ninja Gaiden / Deathrow, I might be okay with this.

To me, having a small amount at launch is not that big of a deal, but how fast they can get them out after that is. So if they only start out with 3 at launch (especially if they all have those cool enhancements mentioned: no pop-in, FSAA, AF, 720p) but they can churn them out quickly after that, then it's a non-issue for me personally.

I was thinking that maybe since they probably have the main program done (Fuzion) they can now just spend all their time focused on converting games. I have a feeling once this ball gets rolling it's gonna fly.

It would be interesting if every couple weeks XBL took a poll and the users voted on which were the next games to get converted.

Woah, if true, only 3 BC games for launch would suck immensely.

If I can't play Ninja Gaiden Black on day 1 I'll be a bit upset. I sold my Xbox and all my games recently and I'm planning on picking up Ninja Gaiden Black at launch.

3 games BC that sucks big time. What have MS been doing all this time? No buy 360 for me.

I find your ideas intriguing and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

Wow, 3 games? That fucking blows. I expect Rare's games to be backwards compatable. I want to play Conker with little to no loading times.

Fuck. Well, I wasn't going to get a 360 at launch anyways, so this just further cements my wait. Rediculous.

you guys are high if you think they would only support 3 games with BC @ launch. I mean get real.

btw the guy who made those comments doesnt work there or anything, please reread his comments.

Trolling score, D-

Try harder next time.

And if the 3 game thing is true, wow - that blows. :(

Oh well, I'm going to hold out as long as I can.
