Xbox 360 Card - Copying Saves???!?

I searched for this so if this is an old question i'm sorry. Also if the answer is really easy, then yes; I'm retarded.

So . . . in my house we have 2 360s and I have other 360s at work, so I got a memory card. My room mate unlocked all the videos of DOA4 and I was trying to bring in his save and capture them for Cinematech. The DOA save is on the memory card, but I can't get if off or copy it to the hard drive. What am I doing wrong?

The Xbox Dashboard says that "you can't transfer this profile" (or something like that) to the hard drive from the memory card, but it was giving me the same message for Kameo and PGR.

WTH? If I can't move saves around between 360s with a memory card why have it?

To save games if you don't have the HDD.

Also, one of the "features" of the HDD is that it's detachable. So take that with you and do your captures.

As Atari said, the Xbox had it's fair share of gamesaves that couldn't be transferred from HDD to memorycard as well, so you shouldn't expect it to change on the 360 in the future. Crappy policy, yes... but what're you gonna do?..

Kameo i've definitely copied... i just click on the file and say 'copy'. from my profile to the HDD. maybe you have to be logged in as the person?

you know, to keep you from f'ing with other peoples saves.

Is there a way to copy a profile, then move it to another Xbox, then bring the save over?

Yes you can copy profiles.

I can't do the step by step because I only did it once and I don't have a 360 in front of me.

I think it wasn't entirely clear how to find they way to copy it, but I moved a profile from xbox 360 HDD to another along with their associated saves (PDZ, Gun, Amped 3, Kameo, PGR3 only). It was not a live-registered profile though, not sure if that makes a difference.

All saves and game content are linked to a profile, and stuff unlocked by a profile can only be accessed by that profile. You cannot copy Live-enabled profiles, only move them. You can move a profile and all the saves associated with that profile from the HDD to an MU, but not copy it.

Microsoft did this to prevent people from getting things like Achievements for free. Once an Achievement is unlocked and a Gamerscore earned, it is only unlocked for that profile and the G only go to that profile. Even if you did copy the save over to your system, the game won't let you access the unlockable stuff without the original profile.

They also did it for some unknown reason on the Xbox though. I think they did it for Shenmue, and I'm pretty sure that Burnout 3 couldn't be moved.

Yea, like someone else said.

Just go to Memory, HDD, Profile, click on the one you want. Then 'Move' and choose the Mem card

then go to the 'Games' on the HDD and copy those up to the MU as well.

If its a live profile it WILL move the entire profile (ie it will no longer be on the xbox) to the MU but you can just move it back when you're done.

Only other thing to watch out for is it will erase any password protection on the live account (if they have the 'press 4 buttons' passcode thing set up).

Ugh, did Team Ninja do it AGAIN for the 360?

Or can you make backups of your DOA saves this time?

You can't copy or move the DOA save file at all nor can you change the device it saves to. It sucks ass. I had to buy a memory unit and start all over just so I can bring my save file with me.
