Don't think so. Thats what the quick disconnect design on the original Xbox controllers were for.

If you haven't already noticed, the controller cord is 2 seperate peices.

It works too, I have had it happen to me at least a couple of times.

Cords need to die. No question about that. I want to treat my next gen controller as my TV remote, put it in the drawer when I'm done without unplugging anything, pull it, rotate it, flip it as much as I want while doing backflips in the process, even lose it under the sofa or just try to have new gaming experiences using mirrors from the toilet.
