Look at that !

Why is there a cord? They're supposed to be wireless. Maybe to charge the controller? But this would contradict the images of the Xbox 360 unit that were 'leaked' a week or two ago.

Smells like fake.

It's wireless, but it lacks a battery. You have to play near an electrical outlet.

Pretty nice.

Guess that indentation must be where the logo goes. Guess its not a button of any sorts.

Looks a bit smaller than the existing "S" controller.

Good find.

Edit:

Did not notice the cord the 1st time.

Makes me wonder if it is real or if the cord is for another purpose. I doubt it would be a charging cord?

Hmmm......

Been there. Done that.
Boring.

Let's see the Revolution controller. That's gotta be the only interesting one.

Cords don't signify FAKE or REAL here.

This could have been taken before the SDK had wireless implimented. Who knows if they'll even bother with it with Dev kits.

^^ bullshit! shitty analog stick. lack of second analog stick. lack of button presses on analog sticks. lack of 2 buttons (L2/R2 or Bl/Wh). cord coming out the wrong end = annoying.

No way. shelf that shit design please.

Kinda look like the Malcom guy from Unreal holding the gun. Probably that Gears of War game Blimblim was talking about.

It's Gears of War or another game running on U3 engine by Epic.

All info/pics from the ourcolony thread and the photoshop one from IGN.

that pics kinda looks like a rifle of some sort. but i'm guessing that's the farthest thing from reality, just because i see shit weird. :lol

it looks real... like someone got a camera phone in a playtest session. Playtest "cubicles" look just like that. Same type of desk material... same type of flourescent lights (see reflection off controller).

And here, you have this not so crazy idea of USB cables used to charge the built-in battery *and* make the controllers compatible with computers *wink wink*

Cables are used for debugging on prototypes too.

You wireless trolls crack me up. Oh! there's a cord! so it' can't be real! it should be wireless OMG!

You forget that it's been known for awhile that X360 controllers would be the standard for game controllers under Longhorn. Guess what that means? USB controllers so you can actually use them with longhorn... Wireless would make it bitchy indeed to connect them to a PC.

As for the lack of controller connector on the x360 unit, I'm willing to bet that's what's behind the little door to the right of the unit, like those PC cases with USBs behind a little trap door. There would probably be a USB post in the back to stick an RF unit and keep the front clean, but Dont count on out-of-the-box wireless, it's a stupid idea. MS are out to make money on it this time, and giving you a premium item like wireless is an act of follie, better to give ou a wired pad and MAKE YOU PAY for the wireless should you want it.

From IGN's FAQ:
There's another old rumor floating around that the system will have a single wired controller port on its back. It seems likely that there will be some sort of wired controller option, even if it was as little as a single port tucked away on the back of the system. The right side of the system houses some sort of port/sliding door that hasn't been figured out yet, so it's possible that there are wired controller ports within that.

Maybe the developers are using the wired ports so they can concentrate on making a game and not changing the battery.

Thank God there are others out there with a brain.....I have said the usb ports are under that little door and it seems nobody listens....2 under the door, and 1 on the back of the unit. The xbox360 will ship with a corded controller...the ir is built in, but you will have to buy the wireless controllers.

I dont think the IR would be used for controllers, on the grounds of IR sucking ass in controller applications. it'd most probably be for a DVD/media center remote

Yeah, thank god there are others with a brain that think that IR is a good way to implement wireless controllers.

the Japanese should like 360 and it's pad. the console is small. the pad is white and small like the PC-Engine and PC-Engine pad

sounds reasonable, even likely, to me.
