Microsoft says "Customize your Xbox 360 console with a faceplate to match your personal style," but the faceplates do nothing for me. I want to try my hand at painting the "stock" faceplate. Does anyone have tips/suggestions on what kinds of paint to use? Acrylic seems to be the best bet, but do any Gaffers have experience doing this kind of work? (And let's see the results if you have.)

I believe the airbrush artist at Zero Hour was painting stock plates with acrylic.

I tried on the faceplate that came with Full Auto, but the system being white, it looks kind of weird with a different color faceplate. It lasted about 2 mins installed on my 360 before I went back to the stock one.

the faceplates in the japanese cafe are ace. anyone know where to pick up some of the japanese ones here?

You can get a customized one from Facetags although I can't vouch for them, as I haven't ordered one. I've been considering checking it out. Anyone here get one?

The only one I want is the Chuck Norris faceplate IGN dreamed up. The rest are kind of silly to me, only the face plate area is the new color if you change it up big time. I'd want to modify the apperance of the whole thing.

Another great service is www.360covers.com, recently purchased the circles (e3 style) skin. Though it took me an hour to put on the sticker for the faceplate it self, I think it was worth it in the end.
