That's 17 games folks, MS stated at X05 to expect 15-20 titles which would leave as many as 3 games still awaiting final approval.

I'm pretty sure saints row was delayed along with full auto.

Enjoy nonetheless.
 
Of the launch games the only ones I'm really interested in are PDZ and DOA4.

I'm honestly not too excited about getting an Xbox 360 this year. I'm perfectly happy with the PS2 stuff this holiday season. It just seems a bit early to upgrade to a new system when there isn't anything mindblowing on it just yet. :/
 
Like Oblivion will make it. Lollerzcates(or whatever they say these days).

But please god, make Oblivion make it.

PS! Is there any way I can hook my X360 up to my (possibly upcoming)Apple Cinema-something widescreen monitor? It only has DVI.

Does it even matter? We're not gonna know until X05 and that's at least a good month before launch so who cares. Love how MS is confusing people with this "launch window" bs just cause they're rushing everything out the door and don't know what's gonna make it and what's not, bastards.
 
is Ridge Racer 6 going to make the launch? I want it and DOA4 and NFS: MW. Will all these make the launch and be a good graphical showcase for the system?

well, you dont need to buy them tonight, but yeah, i think the current word is that all of those will be there at launch

No, the N64 launched with Mario and Pilotwings on the same day however Pilotwings was shiped one copy per five systems and Mario was shipped 1:1.

Cool. But if I've to choose 3 launch games for X360, would Ridge Racer 6, NFS: MW, and DOA4 be the graphical showcase for the system, or there are better choices? List them please thanks!

I'm thinking of Call of Duty 2 just in case one of the 3 games I mentioned didn't make the launch, hmm......want them to show more x360 games soon. :D

Yes there is an Apple brand adapter. It's EXPENSIVE (over $100). It has its own power supply. The Cinema display is great, but you can get more for your money.
 
If all of these games get pushed back, look for the graphical sleeper to be Condemned. it's running the FEAR engine and has some f-ing awesome looking textures. Oh, and if you have a 5.1 sound system it may be a showcase for that as well.

Thing is, *all* the major hardware manufacturers (Sega, Sony, Nintendo) have used the "launch window" concept in the past. It's hardly a Microsoft innovation. The only reason it's more visible now because this time NONE of the final X360 launch lineup is known, whereas before we at least knew some of it because the systems of previous gens have launched in Japan first with a slate of games.

Now that final dev kits have arrived in the hands of developers I'm sure that Microsoft is just waiting for the right time and opportunity to announce what will be available when. Honestly, I'd rather have them wait and give us a semi-real list than announce too early and not be able to deliver.

Never considered the Japan angle but it holds water. Agreed on them giving us a real list and X05 is probably the place they'll do it, beats all the bad press they'd get from potential delays by talking too early. It's just this launch seems so much more visibly rushed than previous gens to me at least. Maybe I'm just paying more attention than I have previously. Afterall launch games are always buggy and rushed but so many launch window games are just so underwhelming from a hardware perspective especially since we've seen what it's capable of. X05 will be very telling, who knows maybe they'll be able to pull it together but just the fact that I have to ask myself if it's next gen or not makes me a skeptic.
 
There I updated the list above to more accuratly reflect what was said in this thread and added in some of the stuff I missed the first time.
 
Some corrections:

Condemned -> confirmed launch day title (Europe)
King Kong -> confirmed launch day title (Europe)
Oblivion -> confirmed launch day title (Europe)
PGR3 -> most likely no launch day title, will probably even slip to 2006
Test Drive Unlimited -> Q1 2006 (worldwide)
Full Auto -> Q1 2006 (Europe)

Pretty good launch lineup.

However, the only game I'm actually interested in isn't looking so hot. Maybe X05 will relieve fears of it ... sucking.

well at least i know i wont be getting an x360 for a few years after its release O_o

what an abysmal lineup. the only ones that even register a small amount of interest from me are Kameo and PDZ (because old habits die hard) and maybe PJ's King Kong. What the hell is RE4 doing there btw? do you mean RE5?

Abysmal launch line up? N64 launched with ONLY mario 64 and i was happy. PS2 had crap for launch. And yes i think he means re5.

I think its a pretty good launch lineup.


oh and saints row is in 05 i think as well.
 
'abysmal' as in there's nothing there that i must have. i'm sure others will find games in that list that are their top priority, but there aren't any for me.

Yes i too am saddened by the lack of MArio DDR.
 
why would i want a crappy DDR game, especially one that is another Mario spinoff? that's like two times the crapiness.

I put money on Prey yesterday, no SKU in the system though. WIth Quake 4, they have the promo box in stores. It should be there at launch
 
There I made another adjustment to that list by fixing that RE4 mixup and adding a 2007 section for games. It's definetly still missing stuff I didnt' exactly take every game from gamespots list. I grabbed some of the more noteworthy stuff and obviously I didnt' bother to put the 10+ games EA releases annually in every year becuase those are obvious cash in products that everyone knows come out annually.

Those of you from europe , take my list and make adjustments in one of your own posts accordingly.
 
I think Need For Speed is supposed to be a luanch title.

People who enter the every10minutes contest can choose either that or Madden to come with their X360.

PS2, DS, and GC will be more than enough for me this fall, but I still want it at launch. heh.

I figure we'll see tons of stuff this week or next, but for now I think PDZ will end up great and DoA4 could be good. Quake 4 too.
