I remember quite a few usb cooling solutions for the PS2. I guess if you keep it in an oven you would need one.

Well I wouldn't recommend someone use it as a fix to a defective unit, but if you're just paranoid it should help out since it connects to the air input side of the system. I guess it'd really depend on how powerful it is...

But of course it'll probably be "too loud" and give people something else to complain about.
