Xbox 360 Physical Dimensions

But its not that much smaller than the original Xbox. You would think three cores running at 3.2Ghz would require more space than that, if its running SO HOT.
Well, outside of the obvious general improvements in CPU technology (believe it or not, as time goes on we as a soceity get BETTER at doing things!), the X360 also uses different cooling methods. Could have swore I heard something about a liquid cooling system, though I'm not totally sure.

Regardless, heat sinks, fans, etc., have come a long ways from five years ago when the first Xbox released.

I think Allard mentioned liquid cooling during the unveiling on MTV, when speaking of the console shell and its innards. I've been looking for a vid of that to download.

I totally agree with what your saying, its just that some seem to think what they know of current technology today represent tommorow. I mentioned liquid metal cooling and many were quick to dismiss it.

The truth the cores in the X360 are not entirely built the same as your standard PPC G5 chip, particularly in the matter of power consumption.
