"Xbox 360 supply to be kept at minimum"

By next week 360 prices on eBay should skyrocket again.

If things get over the $1,000 consistently, I might just sell it and wait it out until February when it should be easier to find.

His numbers sound about right to me.

Either way, I learned not to question analysts after the 2-SKU debacle.

"We want to be there before the PS3 because it's our only chance to get market share"
"But we finally decided to cannibalise our chances by not making our console available"
"We rule... and are going to reach one billion user anyway".

i thought yours was defective or somethin, you keep saying that it scratched all your discs

as far as this article goes, yaya another analyst.

This approach will either create a huge anxiety among the public and compell them to snatch up every Xbox360s in sight continuously or backfire and piss people up big time. A big gamble.

Velocity Girl is poring over tear-stained sketches for the skateboards she designed but cannot do anything with because she's #348 on the preorder list down at EBStop.

Would it bruise Microsoft's ego too much to take back in a lot of the unsold Japanese units, reprogram them for North America, and sell them here?

Why would MS want to keep supply low when they've made such a big fuss about launching early? That doesn't make any sense at all to me

If they genuinely can't make enough machines then they should have delayed the launch, IMO. What's the point of launching early if there isn't enough stock and all the launch games were either delayed or rushed for release (and, as much as I love my Xbox 360 and its games, I really do think PGR and PDZ were rushed and released in an incomplete state)

Shoosh!

It only scratched one disc, and that's when it's been in the vertical position.

That's sort of a misquote, the article says "We believe that (Microsoft) has tried to keep expectations low for retailers this holiday with the hopes of over-delivering. We believe that over-delivering is unlikely at this point," which means that Microsoft is trying to calm down reatilers, not that they're holding back systems.
