Xbox 360 unveiled, pics inside (Engadget)

I hope they don't use the same cheap plastic Apple uses for their iBooks. That's my main concern so far....

And where the fuck do you attach your camera to? There's no USB-Port on the console. Don't tell me, you have to connect USB devices on the back of the Xbox 360.
 
The only thing I don't like is it looks like it still has a curved top = not stackable with other HT components :(.

According to a recent comparison I saw somewhere... ign? it's quite a bit smaller than the Xbox...
 
I generally don't like console hardware designs.
The XBOX is too big and is shaped oddly.
The PS2 looks like the wetdream of a guy stuck in the 80s.
The GameCube really does have a playskool feel to it.

That's where the port must be. I remember hearing there's even 1 wired controller port (?) in the back of the unit.
 
Well, I think it looks more attractive than pretty much any other videogame system

Though less attractive than any other home entertainment unit

I hope that not all of you were expecting any better. The designers would be the same people who created/advocated the first Xbox, no?

BTW, is there any wireless controller out there with rumble function? I don't want to miss that feature!

So even if it had the best and exclusive versions of every game next gen, and was the best console by miles, you wouldn't buy it because "It's ugly"

Looks cool

Would look better on its side. I think the green "ring of light" or whatever will look cool on white.

The giant power button looks like something someone would put on a unit for people who are slow or mentally retarded.

Apple would never design anything that ugly.

At the same time it's light years more stylish than the original xbox.
 
I don't really like the color, but that won't really matter because it will more than likely have customizable face plates. Otherwise, it's pretty good.

This needs to be repeated. Look at that controller. It's probably the same size as the Controller S. Imagine that controller on it's side like the console, then stack another one on top of it and compare it to the 360. How tall would you say the console is now, about the size of 2 to 2.25 controllers wide? It's not that big!

But yeah, for whatever reason on first glance it does look big.

Also the shot is pretty damn bad too. It makes the chrome CD tray look black... you can barely see the hard drive...

As someone aptly put it 5 seconds ago to me on MSN... "It looks like they took the picture in a room with no lights"

I too think the original Xbox looks better.

But people just don't refuse to buy a console because of its looks, right?

I agree. There's more to Apple/iPod's designs than just being white. I don't understand why imitators can see past that. Look at Mac mini, that's sexy and it's not all white. 'God is in the details.'
 
The lighting in that shot isn't very flattering, but I like it...I'm weird like that. Definitely looks about the same size as the original PS2. Honestly, though...I think all of the new systems will be the same size if not larger if only due to cooling issues.
 
If this is next gen, I think it's time for me to sit back and enjoy all these older games I have collecting dust.

When I come back, all 3 will have price drops and tons of software available.

The cycle repeats.
