yes some best buys in the northern california districts 10 region 50 52 and 58 should recieve thier shipments like ours did today, or in the early of next week.

active skus are available and RSS status/Street Date is available for those that are employees that of best buy, Pre Order status for employees are per GM Authorization, if in fact you can punch in these skus and purchase, no serial number required like those of the Sony PSP.

All other consumers, the time is comming very shortly and im sure all you anxious people cant wait, but your retailers are recieving shipments of the units in! YAY! ill post updates till the unit disperses into public purchase view!

take care!

Holy crap, five weeks ahead of time? I know that places usually get hardware a couple weeks in advance, but not this early.

wait, some stores are getting units in a full month before release??

I don't think I've ever heard of any system coming in that early.

Crack one open and tell us if the brick power supply is there.

FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE?

I really doubt a blockbuster would get them five weeks early. Microsoft is talking about supply issues and they are doling them out already?

Blockbuster?

Does this mean that Best Buy actually *is* going to be doing pre-orders of the hardware?
How would this be proof of that? I'd say it's very, very doubtful.

Wow, I wasn't expecting this. No pictures though? I'm so disappointed :(

Hell, I'll settle for a YA RLY pic or even the Buttsecks one

Good. Maybe this means more systems are shipping out than originally anticipated? Get 5 weeks shipments in before launch. ;)

Even if this is true, I wouldn't try too hard getting a system before launch. The launch date is Nov 22, and there will be serious beat downs by MS to any company trying to sell the hardware early.

Oh, not the image. Just the idea that he mentions employee preorders and the next breath is that all other consumers, our time is "comming" shortly. :P The image itself is just a price verification. I dunno how hard it is to get those, but I don't think that's confirmation that any stores have received anything.

I preordered mine at at my Best Buy and got a free 360 hat.

When did you preorder, whereabouts ya from, and are you an employee or consumer? Do they have the little preorder coupons for it?

I am in Vancouver, BC. You can preorder from Best buy or Future Shop(which is owned by Best Buy)

This weekend they are having another preorder event at Future Shop and are giving away 360 toques. I don't see why you can't preorder at a Best buy in the states.

I get to go in the front of the line on launch day if i wear my hat. :)

Already? Say bye bye to more than 2 BC games at launch without downloading a patch.

Freedi

I don't see what's the problem, broadband is very avaible now, assuming that MS will not charge for the new executables

He might be from Canada. I know they were giving away toques for preordering.

LOL!!! That cracked me up!

BTW, you don't suppose that MS might include a demo CD to upload any BC titles, do you? Nah...its easier to make them downlaod it, right?

The problem is that it is a pain in the ass.

How's that complicated?
Going by the description of the gamepro guy, you put the xbox1 disk, dashboard ask you to download the new executable (The biggest executable that I've sees is like 10MB and most of them are only 3MB), I highly doubt that the recompilation of that executable adds something considerable to the current size.
I think they couldn't get any game to run, because that service is still not active.

If you have to do more than just hook the system up and stick the disc in, then it's a pain in the ass.

Personally, I don't have my consoles in the same room as my cable internet connection. It's a major inconvenience for me to move my console and a tv to another room to hook it up to get backwards compatibility working. My little brother lives in an area without any high speed internet service, so he's SOL entirely.

Pain. In. The. Ass.

If they had the executables ready now, wouldn't they put them on a HDD? They'll probably make them available later on, on a most needed basis.

I hope you can turn off auto updates. I'm keeping my Xbox so I have no interest in backwards compatibility at all. It'll be annoying if i have to sit through forced updates for things that I don't want

i wonder if there's any chance of street date breaking. wasn't the n64's launch moved up because some stores had sold it early?

Yeah, but only by 3-4 days. That was nine years ago. Things are much different now when it comes to video games, obviously.

I've worked retail on launch days for too long to believe that any system would ship that early. A week and a half at max maybe, but 5 weeks :-|

Oh well, if this turns out true I am sure MS will be checking locations of Ebay sellers and probably tell their reps to do physical counts every once in a while.

Would it be too far fetched that this "evidence" is just a sku lookup printed out?

OBJECTION!

...Sorry to much Phoenix Wright lately...

There is no way M$ is shipping retail units this early, and as Elvis would say "that's a fact, jack"

Just incase anyone's interested, this is a poor fake.

Open the image in Photoshop, and equalize it and you'll see different visual artifacts around the "printed" text than that rest of the image.

Also, if you invert the image, you'll see that the "printed" text stays flat, but the rest of the paper is slightly crumpled. The crumples don't seem to effect the text.

Its may be real receipt, but all it says is price verification, not purchase.
If its fake, its a really good one.

Its called WI-FI.

There will obviously be other ways to update your supported games in the future (i.e. upgrade disks, OXM discs, etc)

Call off the hounds. :lol
