Xbox dvd drive died!

It's death was sudden. One day, I tried watch a dvd, and the dvd was stuttering, playing a frame a second. Now, it can't read anything. It's a Philips drive, any tips on how to fix it?

Replace it.

My XBOX is sometimes refusing to eject the disc when i hit the open button, instead of going to the menu it just blinks forever and shows a black screen....i have to turn off the system for like 10 minutes then it opens and goes to menu...

either I suppose but Im not sure how easy it is to replace the drive. mine was doing that sort of thing earlier this year when I had to replace it.
Time to back up my saves then...

I've got a tompson i want to replace one of these days. You guys say 20 bucks is all i need to replace it? I'm in show me where to go.

If the drive still spins it's the laser that's dead. You can either replace the lens which costs about 30 dollars or a whole new complete Thomson drive for about 20 dollars. Replacing the lens is easy but requires a bit of time. If you want to completely replace the Thomson drive it's cheaper, faster and easier. Both items can be found on Ebay.
