Why are they announcing the PC this early? Most Company's announce this stuff early may.

MS seem pretty amped about this E3. Both Phil and Major Nelson have already been posting stuff on Twitter about prepping for E3. I think they are going to try to come out guns blazing to really try to sell Scorpio hard.

Question is will they have the announcements to make it happen? They need some serious big caliber game reveals. Their current slate is pretty sparse

They always talk about prepping for E3 this early, and every E3 is their 'biggest ever'. But for it to be that, in my eyes, they need to show a strong investment in unique and original first party content that is pushing the boundaries, and not simply the same again on repeat. At this point, they don't just need to match Sony's output, they need to exceed it, if they want any chance of Xbox becoming relevant again outside the US.

Basically, we need to see 2006 Microsoft again, back when they were investing in what was big new IP at the time, like Gears, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Crackdown etc.

That goes without saying. They can just show the game, have the logo saying "footage is from Scorpio version" and then at the end of the trailer show release date and available on "Scorpio & Xbox One". Now, what I am wondering will everything shown be the Scorpio version or will they show some games as the Xbox One version?

For multiplayer/coop focused games, I'd expect a few more demos like the one they did for FH3 last year, with players spread across different hardware/platforms (ie, one launch XB1, one S, a Scorpio, and a PC).

Anything single-player/only presented with a trailer will probably just be Scorpio.

Agreed. 2006 was magical and with MS pushing Scorpio/win 10 etc, it would be nice to see more new ips. Sea of Thieves etc is a great start. Would like to see them announce their own Bloodborne/Nioh for the system. Sony are making the Souls style games a nice market for the PS4. MS need to get in on that.

Only 4 months left so I'm happy we're steadily making our way there.

With MS I have low expectations though. They really don't have any great exclusives. I'm still pulling for Banjo Threeie.

We just need stuff besides their usual 3.......A lot more stuff. I'm hoping for lost Odyssey sequel

But they really need to beat Sony in first party output. I don't see this happening sadly with everything being required to be a service and the way they have handled IPs

I'm hoping that this means Sony brings their conference forward to the old Xbox slot, so (in the UK) we don't have to stay up until a ridiculous hour to watch it.

Last year Spencer said it would be one of the most special E3s in Xbox history. And we got a CG of the Scorpio chip. Microsoft has no clue of what makes E3 an special event, so it's probably wise to keep expectations in check.

You poor soul.

The 90 minute limit was for Spike.

If they're not on Spike they can be longer... maybe a 2hr conference.

Yea, hopefully no Spike TV this time, so they could have a 30min show for Scopio and the 90 minutes just for games.

Of course, if they have stuff to show.

Well, that's not a hard prediction, the last 2 Xbox released November.

I'm pretty sure everyone here is expecting Scorpio to drop November.

Playground can't have anything to show, right? The final expansion for FH3 will have been out and the new team won't have much if anything to show of this new IP.

I just noticed that they retweeted the Xbox E3 announcement tweet and put two and two together and started dreaming/hoping.

Yo i just figured out the next name....

XBOX HIGHLANDER

I'm glad this is on Sunday, and hope Sony sticks with Monday. So we have the goodness spread out over days.

Last year's Sunday was awful with EA + Bethesda. At least this year, there's bound to be a good one this time around (unless MS start channeling their 2010 conference for some strange reason)

Announcing Scorpio and Xbox S was a huge deal

lol

If you get invited to the press conference.. what does that entail to the whole expo?

Baby's first time.
Show up a couple hours early when they say to, leave after it's done. There's a que where you wait outside until they funnel you into available seats. Bring your invite and an ID, but they should email all info you need anyways

That's pretty much it. Expo proper doesn't start until Tuesday, and the briefing is totally seperate from that.

Edit: I should say if it's for fanfest then do whatever they emailing you for instructions. I know last year fanfest people got in early, spencer and crew met with them after breakfast right before the brief, they got to sit up by the stage, etc

Thanks, this is for the conference itself. I got the rest of that information through email.

Am I able to enjoy the expo the other 2-3 days as well? Or does my pass only grant access to the MS conference and then im booted out lol?

The controller for their Windows MR stuff

And important to note they require no external cameras to work with full tracking, which is pretty sweet

They also said they're going to talk more about the headset at E3.

The headsets they've shown before, and it's really key to note there isn't *one*, it's an ecosystem. They're actually in the Hub at Build right now if my eyes aren't crazy, but at E3 they're focusing on their whole mixed reality content experience

Is it from MS?

Yes, for their entire Windows mixed reality ecosystem, which Scorpio is a part of.
