Activate ICS [Internet Connection Sharing]

My 56K Xbox Live connection works with the computer, but only because it utilizes the only two ports on my computer. Connection sharing.

One goes to the wall, the other to the Xbox 360.

And presto! Hours and hours of downloading small files.

I have a cable so my option:
is a LINKSYSwrt54g (wirless Router for Cable or Adsl), but at this moment I don't use the wireless option. Just a strait cable to your Xbox.


Cable from your adsl or cable>>>>>.Router----another cable (Strait) (No cross cable)---your xbox360.


In your Xbox360
Network Settings:
IP settings: Manual
IP my xbox360:192.168.1.99 (because my router adress begins at 192.168.1.100)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (can be different with another router, but this is for Linksys)

DNS SETTINGS:Manual
Primary DNS Server:213.31.144.37 (check wit IPCONFIG /all, or ask your provider)
Secondary DNS Server: 213.31.129.37 (check wit IPCONFIG /all, or ask your provider)

When i got 56k working with xboxlive last week a posted a thread about it i thought i did something amazing, now i am just unimportant and normal

I bought a router and got my xbox connected, all I need now is a credit card to finish the set up process. Parents wouldn't let me use their's. I lost my debit card the other day and I'm awaiting a new one. Thanks for the help.

Oh well! Atleast I got my notebook connected to the net now!
