"Xbox, Mysteriously, is Sold Out"

How did this thread...ahh it doesn't matter.

Did some late Xmas shopping and Xbox & PS2 are both sold out everywhere.

As for Xbox 2, Fall 2005 is not too early. Perfect timing for a new system, can't wait! :D

Facts >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Your Opinion

What the fuck do you expect me to do to "prove myself"? Give you names of the people I know or find the press releases stating Xbox development's shriveling up during 2005? What I've posted is generalized information gathered from multiple reliable sources that I trust. I'm not going to jeopardize anything for a couple of doubtful (and insignicant) forum posters. Since you don't know me, feel free to not believe me or resort to insults because it's not going to change anything either way. Maybe if I were one of those prestigious gaming "journalists", you'd be more inclined to believe me more but since I'm only making video games...meh, what the fuck do I know. Believe what you want but you'll see at E3.

So, after reading through this, it looks like MS wasn't planning on selling out of the ~2 million EA Sports bundles before Christmas like the past two years and is now getting burned. I think they planned on only selling ~600k last month leaving plenty for Dec. When the Nov. numbers started coming in, it looks like they were able to start getting the vanilla system back in the channels barely in time. It's been hovering in the top 5 at Amazon the last few days and wasn't inflated up to near $300 like the EA sports bundle until now. Ordering for one after the 25th will still be a problem, but not nearly as bad as it was.

Anyway, MS missed out on a chance to pick up some extra marketshare this holiday while only pushing Halo 2 (that's the only Xbox ad I've seen for a while), where PS2 has has the benefit of a lot more MGS3, GTA: SA, and Killzone commercials the last few weeks. I'm not sure how bad the damage is, but if MS doesn't do at least 1.24 mil for Dec., then they really messed up the execution for this holiday in terms of getting more marketshare.

I can't believe MS was dumb enough not to supply enough consoles for this Christmas. I guess they didn't think that NCAA/Topspin bundle would do so well, but they must have seen how well Xbox did in November. Wouldn't that signal a need to boost up stock for December?

I was actually testing how easy you are to piss off. Answer: very, very easy. :D

I'm also suggesting this entire fucking conversation be put on hold until one or more of the Big Three actaully announce their timeline.

And what good have all those PS2 ads done when PS2s can't be found?
