Xbox One adds Xbox 360 backwards compatibility

Migrate the account to HK and then you won't have to worry about the game region not matching the system region. As for the China issue, you can get around that with a VPN if needed, but likely your biggest issue is the game region not matching the console region.

I'm impressed with Microsoft. This move says Microsoft doesn't see the console wars are over, or that they aren't invested in being "Number One" this gen. Confident investment :D

Not sure if they are still doing the arrogant tweets by people like Major Nelson. Maybe they've been humbled. Maybe not
 
I have problem with shadow co,plea after the update, it won't fully install the patch so I'm re-installing the game now.

It's shame as I'm really enjoying it so far.
 
I want to say there may be some issue with BC games and background updates to do with external hard drives.

I saw a couple of replicated files in both internal and external, was almost like it had tried to download the patch onto internal whilst the original was in external.

Have mentioned it on feedback.

Yeah, I had the same thing. Shadow Complex showed up on both external and internal for me, and I had a bunch of problems getting the update to actually install.

Ive been having various issues with games: Jetpac Refuelled updates, Dishonored pre-order, Submerged and now Shadow Complex, I don't have an external hooked up either
 
Can someone in here please send me an invite to this backwards compatibility preview thing? Sat down hoping to play crackdown and didn't realize this hadn't been widely released. My gt is dvd520. Thanks

Make a post in that thread, and someone will likely help you out. It's discouraged to either request or provide invites in these threads, because when people were they were so numerous the chains of them dominated the actual discussion.

I would also like to add as PSA this is a beta program for not only Backwards Compatibility, but also other things. Things can and do go wrong and sometimes there are adverse things being in this program. I know of many that bitched and moaned because certain things would break, so just know that going in. I know it may be common sense, but many people beg for invites, get invited and then turn around and bitch about something breaking and they don't like it.

You can delete the first one, it should have notified you when they released the second o ne about it. The second one was an update so that it'd work with Rare Replay and is the one you should use

I guess RoKKer was right. I mean it does make sense to release them. I'm guessing its all of them as just adding Judgement doesn't make that much sense.
 
Some news I hadn't noticed - there was an update for Gears of War 1 Backwards Compatibility, which enables DLC content. So it looks like they have plans for DLC compatibility.

DLC in Gears 1 was enabled around one week ago.

Yea but let me remind you that gears 1 dlc was free. I own all the gears games dlc but I don't think they're going to make paid ones compatible just yet
 
I'm pretty sure that the DLC for other games will show up as xbox one dlc just like the 360 games themselves show up as xbox one games.

That is how it seems they are testing it at least, since this is already on the MP:

Paid DLC currently isn't supported. But they're working on it. Mass Effect has this weird issue where you can't use your existing cloud saves without DLC, and the DLC doesn't work yet.
 
I thought they said originally that you get all the gears games in BC later in the year when they become available, not today :P

However I do want to play them asap, as a preview member my gears 2 disc is sitting in my xbox one already, waiting.

Ever since the shadow complex update issue i've uninstalled the game two days ago now yet I have a black square with no image telling me it's ready to install in the installed apps area, it won't go away.

Reinstalling the correct shadow complex version makes a second box, so this black shadow complex box is stuck where it is.

*edit* game refuses to install past 99% still, damn the entire game is bugged now.

Restart your Xbox. Full reboot, not power saving shutdown.

Huh. Okay - you're probably best using the Xbox Preview app to report the problem. You won't be able to get individual help, but they do read the reports. I've run into the 99% problem twice now, but restarting the console fixed it.

I finally got mine to work last night by:

1. Uninstalling the game (leaving just the black square that won't go away).
2. Restart the console completely.
3. Download and install the game from the store.
4. Restart the console completely again.
