quick question about region stuff
I did choose US at the setup because of the missing voice features in my country, and my profile is also set to US
can I redeem gift cards from EU countries now? or just cards which have the $ symbol on it?
I did use my credit card to add some funds and it says $ now, but I could get some 50 cards really cheap, would it convert it automatically or does it simply refuse? anyone tried that?
I know xbox live gold subscription cards/codes do work worldwide, curious about the currency
not speaking from experience but this came up a few days ago and I believe you still need $ cards if you're shopping on the US store. If you redeem currency it will separate the two. You can switch between regions at will

I didn't think they were doing the Xbox One version of the beta until January or February?
They made an article about a Thuway tweet. It has to do with driver updates which isn't surprising or relevant to us since that will help on development side.
As far as the next update goes, we gave no indication of when it'll be out. We know Microsoft will be pushing a variety of updates for the system at a different pace than the 360 but no official word on what's next.

Console OTs aren't allowed, are they? Somebody tried making a Wii U one a couple days ago and it got locked in no time at all.
I got permission to make a monthly OT. But I believe it will live in the community section.

This system is impressing me and my friends, i just signed into my friends xbox, and i snapped IE, i was blown away when IE was configured exactly how it is on my xbox at home, and brought up what i was currently viewing at home (neogaf).
Hes also hooked up his PS4 to Xbox One HDMI in, hes loving how he can jump from and xbox game and then straight into PS4 with a simple voice command.
And i was really disapointed with PS4 inability to quickly jump between games in saved state, is there a setting to enable this ? I can jump from AC4 to Dead Rising to Netflix back to AC4 and pick up from exactly where i left off on Xbox One, but PS4 forces me to close apps to boot another. Perhaps this is for another thread.
Anyway, really impressed with the mobile acount feature.

Honestly, I'm expecting a February update to address the unfinished features in the OS like the lack of surround sound support with the HDMI in and the broken party chat before arguably the largest game of early 2014 comes out in March in Titanfall.
coming soon for ps4, but on the other end I'd be careful on xbone because you can only have 4 or 5 apps/games suspended and it won't warn you that you need to close the game like ps4 does so you can lose progress if you rely on this
Yeah, I would consider that to be a small update though
As far as the first big UI changing/feature adding update is concerned, I'm expecting it at my previously mentioned time. I'm just basing it mainly off the big Windows Phone and Windows update that's rumoured for springtime. Considering that all the OS teams from WP/Windows and Xbox are now apparently working together (or at the very least working closer together) I wouldn't be too surprised.yankeehater

I believe you do not have download/"reinstall".
I did this with Dead Rising. It'll use the disc install,and just download the license. Then you're good to go.
So if I buy the same game off the store, it'll just run already?

If I do a double receiver setup, with the 2nd receiver getting it's audio signal from the HDMI Audio Return Channel (Xbox One -> HDMI -> Sony 55W904A -> ARC -> Sony DAV DZ950, Xbox One -> toslink -> Harman Kardon AV330) yes, one receiver is behind by a few milliseconds. I adjusted the Center Delay to compensate.
