Xbox One Screenshot Sharing is Live!

I'm just stating what I've noticed. The photos of certain games here look better than what I've seen in game, FH2 and Killer Instinct specifically.

EDIT: DR3 has far more jaggies as well going off the demo.

Ah, I think then it must be an issue with your TV then. From my perspective FH2 actually looks better in game than in the screen shots posted in this thread.

Thing is, I've played a ton of PC games even at 8xMSAA, and they still don't look as clear. Is something funky with PC AA? Like is the MSAA a special variant used in FH2? Because I only get that sort of clarity when I downsample from 2160p.
I'm no Durante but maybe it has something to do with Forward+ rendering in FH2. It's way out of my league.

Beautiful screenshots...uncompressed pngs was the right choice

Depends on the game. For those with Deffered Rendering it won't do much because it's pretty much incompatible with MSAA as a whole. Games with Forward rendering like Forza and The Order can actually make use of it. Considering a large amount of games in the recent years have used Deffered rendering it's no wonder you aren't getting any results from MSAA. For this setup devs usually resort to post-processing AA and temporal AA.

Maybe you need to calibrate your TV. Sharpness or post processing on your TV could ruin the IQ.

It's calibrated, not professionally of course.

It's pretty close to the source. Identical? Just don't see it.

I should just try my luck with a screenshot and do the comparison myself.

I think having lossless screenshots will help Xbone in the long run in regards to public perception. We're already seeing it here, people are starting to realize that 900p is not the end of the world and that Xbone is not some super weak ass machine. It's weaker than PS4, yes, but it's still a massive improvement over last-gen and has great looking titles already.

It's a nice feature to have but I'm not sure how to feel about this screenshot thing in general in relation to this statement (for either system) because, I don't think a screenshot should sell a game. To me it feels like it prioritizes a pretty still shot to sell a game with no indication of how smoothly it runs or anything about the gameplay. I don't like that trend of devs throwing all the system power to make a pretty image to show off. The Order destroys everything in screenshots.

Where do I got to share the photo, unless Twitter remains the only option?

Think I seen a few members say they grabbed the shot from Xbox.com.

I don't think it necessarily sells games or systems, but it helps to clear the confusion around the whole hardware and power talks, because this is the real deal, no enhanced photo mode or PR bullshottery, this is captured by players and represents what it actually on screen. And also it helps to capture moments you want to capture without difficulty or need for external capture cars. I think it's a nice feature and might push game devs to put even more detail into games, because now it's all kinda exposed, both ugly and pretty. Selling games or systems might be a side effect of the whole thing.

This thread is making me want to go play Dead Rising 3 and Sunset Overdrive again....but my Xbox One is hooked up in another room at the moment.

how does sunset overdrive look so good in those screens. A none native res game? is it doing some tricks. I thought it is supposed to be a blurry mess if it isnt 1080p?
SO actually looks incredible and there are huge battles with particles and explosions all over the place
Its funny how many people think the XB1 is garbage.

Screenshots are definitely making games look better than they really do, but everything posted is beautiful.

No they do not. They look identical in-game and on the screenshot.

You were feed the anti-XBone propaganda from the other camp's trolls for well over a year now and you took it for granted.

I agree. My own screen shots look a lot better than what the look like while playing.
I think the reason for this might be the fact that your computer screen is smaller than your tv along with a higher pixel density, which causes the screenshots to appear better than on your TV which is likely significantly larger than your computer screen along with a much lesser pixel density. If you take a screenshot and then look at it on IE on your xbox one on your TV screen and compare it to the actual game then guaranteed they will look identical.

It's been mentioned multiple times already you can just grab the images from Xbox.com.

Where would I go because I'm not seeing anything but clips.

Maybe, maybe not. I know what the system is capable of as Unity is impressive.

edit: how are you guys posting your screenshots. Clearly I did something wrong.

You need to go to the link from the tweet

https://account.xbox.com/en-US/scre...112&scid=bfd50100-73e2-4d76-bba3-230210134db7

Then right click the image and copy the URL. You get this:

http://screenshotscontent-t3001.xbo..._=1424552942_e217a561759eea87e0a07a05c3f396b8

You can cut out all the unnecessary junk from the link too but it works on GAF either way:

What's your theory for how an output screen-grab could look artificially better than the game's output stream?

No they do not. They look identical in-game and on the screenshot.

Yeah, I am seeing a lot of the games I own and that is how the games look on my screen. The Xbox One has some killer looking games... accept it.

Again, can someone explain how do I grab the photos from Xbox.com?
