go to time index 3:11

pause the movie

you will see under the games tab "Xbox 1 Zone" playing Fable.

backwards compatibility confirmed!!

from B3D

If I was playing Fable on my Xbox and was signed into Live, and my friend with an Xbox 360 has me on their Friends list, I wonder what would happen?

hmm, ever think that that might be xbox live, and the user was playing on an xbox 1 that was playing fable which is live aware?
Gee

What abut the lack of a black and white buttons n the controller?

The controller still has the same amount of buttons. The black and white buttons were just moved to the shoulder. There are third party Xbox pads out now that are exactly like that.

its probably just showing you what your friend is playing while your on Xbox360 live so you can cry that the game he is playing looks just as good as yours and he didnt blow 300 bucks on a new system

It isn't Xbox Live. Xbox Live (and firends lists) are on their own tab. "Q" is the name of the person who owns that Xbox and that's their Gamer Card that is displayed in the still.

Announcement on Monday.
Yeah. This is what im guessing. Notice that no one thats covered it so far (Gamereactor, Gamesradar, gamespot, etc.) havent mentioned it (BC) in any capacity. Probably by request.

the fact that they're saving it for the conference and not saying it outright means it's probably going to be a big deal. By that I mean I have no fucking idea what's going on because of all these crossed signals.

Even the TXB article that went up tonight says that MS says that they're still "working" on including BC.

Goodness.

technically i think they have both an announcement of BC, and an announcement of no BC ready for the press conference. Probably waiting for a breakthrough within the next couple days.

Even IGN is all confused.

On the one hand, they seem pretty damned sure that MS will release an adapter to use Controller S for X360

Will the current Controller S be compatible with Xbox 360?
Not without an adapter, that has yet to be announced. What is very likely though is that there will at least be some sort of Controller S adapter released either at or near launch, be it via Microsoft or a third party manufacturer. If Xbox 360 is solely wireless, then we'd bet that someone will create a wireless port that accepts the Controller S and then wirelessly sends its signal to Xbox 360. Don't throw away your Controller S collection just yet...

And on the other, they aren't sure if X360 will be backwards compatible.

Will Xbox 360 be backwards compatible?
The problem with backwards compatibility is that the original Xbox ran on an nVIDIA graphics processor. When software makes calls to a chipset to produce visuals it uses code specific to that hardware. Xbox 360 runs on an ATI graphics chip meaning that code from last generation games will need to be recompiled or emulated in order to work on the system. Does this mean that consumers will have to chuck their beloved Xbox libraries? Not necessarily. There is a chance that Xbox 360 will have the ability to emulate the old system, though nothing has been announced as of yet.

But why the fuck would anyone want to use Xbox1 controllers on X360 if X360 doesn't play Xbox 1 games?

Odd.

...that isn't promising.

I wouldnt be supprised if they put BC on the "To be confirmed later" pile along with the price.

Maybe all the negative press they are getting right now will drive them to work a little harder to get it in.

People, people, people.... Lets do some logical thinking here. Nvidia is no longer making xbox chips as of August 1st ie: no more Xbox production once those are gone which is estimated to be around xmas. MS has GONE ON RECORD SAYING they plan to support Xbox for a long time to come after 360 launches. Well lets see here... if they don't have Xboxs to sell to consumers to play said future Xbox games the oh.... hey... they must be able to work on Xbox 360! Not tomention Allard has said that there will be a big announcement on monday reguarding this. And oh yea... the ourcolony vid SHOWING PEOPLE PLAYING HALO 2 WITH XBOX 360 CONTROLLERS... Lets get with it here.

Or they may be assuming all current Xbox systems won't disappear into thin air.
