jokes apart, Hideo says that he is making a whole new brand for 360 and the new chapter of MGS4 for ps3
but I think that he will wait till E3 to drop the bomb, I can't immagine what is the game of this thread :)
 
I don't think a game Microsoft is making would be announced through IGN.
Prepare to be disappointed.. (like everytime we've had an IGNton)

I'm getting a bit hyped about this, but I second thorns when he says that Micrososft isn't going to announce anything important exclusively through IGN.

It'll turn out to be something like the SHENMUETON at E3 2k4 that turned out to be an agreement with WB for Matrix Online. ARGH was I hyped back then.

its not just on ign...they mentin it will be on the xbox.com website as well....perhaps sega sonic hedgehog via xbla for 360 exclusive and not for revolution? /shrug
 
which company would having an interview with the president be significant? devs i can understand, but its probably a smaller team if the president needs to be interviewed (or a huge megaton...)

as in "it's coming for x360" (in which case that would be ninja gaiden 2, which has already been more or less confirmed) or as in "that's the game ign is talking about" ?
 
you guys never learn. when was the last time an ign exclusive ever lived up to the hype? it'll be cool and interesting im sure but im not expecting much.
 
Doesn't Doug say he's going to have an interview with the president of the company that's making the game? In that case, the developer is probably small and not Japanese.

Hell yea... thats the flagship game for the PS3, now if Konami was to create that for Xbox360 then where does that put the PS3? I know its not gonna make an impact on the user base but it would damn sure fuck with the mindshare a bit if it looked just as good.

So, on a more serious note. What have we got about this title up 'till now?

- It's coming to Xbox 360 exclusively
- The subject matter of the game is something you wouldn't expect from the dev
- IGN managed to do an interview with the developer's president
- Wide range of reactions expected (Sonybots am cry, Xbots am overjoyed?)
- None of the guesses on the IGN board were right so far (what were they?)
- Game should be something totally unexpected and Doug is still amazed of it all
- IGN started the hype/speculation

Well, what could that possibly be? Considering the subject matter/developer relationship, it's probably a 'kiddy' themed game from a mature content focused company, or the other way around. Also, it's probably not a very big developer/company since IGN managed to get an (exclusive?) interview with it's president. It's probably not Japanese either then, though you can't be completely sure. Since it's totally unexpected and hardly guessable, it's probably either a franchise or developer which no-one would've ever expected to appear on the Xbox platform or consoles in general. It certainly doesn't have to be some existing game series, since the story seems to be focused on the developer for the most part and since the relationship between subject matter and the developer is unexpected and surprising.

My guess is that unannounced Warren Spector game which someone else in this thread mentioned before OR a very mature themed game from Tim Schafer.

What he's saying though is that the content is surprising in that you wouldn't expect it from this developer. So why would anyone be surprised to see a MG come from Konami. It's their flagship series.

As has been said before: the game is coming from a developer of which you wouldn't expect it from at all. I'm willing to bet it's NOT a sequel, but a totally new game with subject matter we aren't expecting from the developer in question.

I think it's better to guess which developer it is, instead of the game.
