From their messaging during the takeover this is what I would expect, pretty sure they mentioned franchises with existing fanbases on other platforms would come to those platforms.

They really need the next Elder Scrolls to be a massive hit that takes the world by storm again, unlike Starfield.

It also already has an audience on Playstation, so naturally it makes sense it will be day and date on PS5/PS6.

At this point Microsoft will probably be third party for everything going forward

Tom Warren is connected to Microsoft in a far bigger way than most of the Xbox community is.

He used to run Winrumors.com before joining the Verge.

The game is five years away from releasing. At that. It's no different than claiming GTA7 will be exclusive to the Switch 3. It's so far away no one will remember if he was wrong.

I don't believe anything these guys say. Let me know when Starfield gets a confirmed release date on PS5. Until then, it's just a whole lot of this:

For a decision like this, it's pretty easy to make well in advance.

No doubt Bethesda hates that they are confined only to Xbox while Activision gets CoD everywhere. It's a double standard, especially when their studios are supposed to be "sustainable" now for profits. Is it OK to lay people off from Bethesda because their games aren't selling well enough on Xbox while Activision doesn't because CoD is everywhere? Of course not.

Starfield is being announced next Wednesday.

When that doesn't happen, they obviously decided to delay the announcement to a future date that is totally still 100% happening.

We already know. That was the whole point of the "business update". By the time it releases, Microsoft will be releasing games everywhere they can on launch day.

People who focus on things will notice it. This game was already the subject of media interest over 2-3 years ago when the Zenimax purchase was finalized. Elder Scrolls is a major franchise like that.

Also I have rarely seen Tom Warren get anything wrong when it come to Microsoft.

He went by tom smith back then. He changed his name to warren because that's how he does things now.

Phil, Xbox and MS are all idiots. All they need to do (if they are going to definitely put it on PS5) is to make it exclusive for a short amount of time on the Xbox. Like 2-3 months. That way, die hard ES fans will find a way to buy it day one (or GP) and will get it on Xbox. Then PS5 can have it shortly thereafter.
