For the record EU/EW did have voices - just lacking. off the top of my head there was English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Polish and Russian.

and has it been confirmed on whether international voices will have subtitles for chatter or not? If not I'll throw in my request for a mod.

The localisation voices were patched in waay after release, though.

Neither do I, it's just annoying.

I'm super happy that we have voice options though. Can't tell you how many times I was annoyed to have my native Hong Kong soldier speaking American accented English.

Voices were one of the big selling points for Long War for me.

Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any Asian or Russian voices in the game. I'm pretty disappointed in this, one of the few negatives I've seen of the game.

But.. I need Japanese voices if I want to make a Persona 4 Investigation Team squad.

Firaxxissssss!!!
I thought the localization was an EW addition
You're right. Bah.

Enemy Within was definitely a bit more than a patch... not sure why I was thinking that.

Ah didn't know that, for some reason I didn't discover their greatness until now.

just accidentally made the coolest support ever

I can't be the only person who color codes my soldier armor based on their class, can I?

Support = white
Assault = yellow
Heavy = red
Sniper = light blue

What is scary is that you the exact same colors for the same classes as me! Stay out of my head!

Like, how could it be, before the game is out?

One provided by the developer for example :) some games come with one.

edit: Oh I got confused. I thought the game was out because on the German Steam startpage it says "now available" and not "last chance to pre-purchase" like on the English site.

I roll dices (d20) when they get a nickname. I like to think as the soldiers having a personality of their own and choosing how to look.

I hope someone mod a "random" button for customization options so I can keep doing that, because rolling dices on 90+ color options will be tough. lol

Certainly do, though I use a different scheme.

Support = White
Assault = Red
Heavy = Blue
Sniper = Black

No idea yet what I'll do in XCOM 2 :)

I switch around but generally my snipers are white and heavies are neutral/army-ish colors.

I'm so glad we're getting more color options, more than half of the ones in EU were way too bright/cartoony.

Eh, my heavies are red because EXPLOSIONS.

Assault is yellow because lightning speed w/ run and gun and lightning reflexes.

Snipers are blue because god damn i ran out of cool colors

I guess medics being white are kinda ubiquitous though :D

No. Heavies are red because it means DANGER and DANGER means blasting aliens with rocket launchers!

YES

Sorry if it's been asked but why is this games install size 47gb? Seems kind of massive.

Cutscenes? Significantly improved textures??

I'm kinda worried about a 45GB preload. I'm not even sure when GMG are going to hand out keys, but I took Friday off work. It'd be a shame if I spent the entire day watching a download bar.

Yeah, that's the reason I went with the physical version for this. However, I'm hoping it's not like FO4 where they only put 5 GB on the disk lol.

Well, what is utterly revolting is that "New Brazil" on XCOM 2 is like, 1/3 of actual Brazil and nowehere near where I actually live.

Aliens stole my country! Motherfuckers!

I'm pretty sure most Scottish soldiers would prefer to fly that flag and not the Union Jack.

The thing is, I don't think people here are anti-Union when they do or say things like this. I think it's just a cultural pride and history thing. I think the identity of Scots is really cherished.

I do wonder though what their reasons were for putting the Saltire in the game but not the St. George's Cross or the Welsh Dragon.

I color code based on their names...

...because all my call signs are Transofrmers. No pink this time around tho right? Poor Arcee ;_;

I mean the answer is ignorance, I assume, but you also couldn't have Welsh soldiers in the previous game. Or Northern Irish soldiers, for that matter.

Unfortunately that isn't really an option since Scotland isn't a sovereign state and doesn't have a military.
Well, in the dystopian future in which XCOM 2 is set I don't think there are any sovereign states, so... ;)

Different colors, and I pick a random one when they hit Officer ranks, but yeah :D

Rookies = Red
Support = White
Assault = Blue
Heavy = Green
Sniper = Black

Looking forward to installing 7 CDs! Well, at least it'll work on Windows ME.

Edit: More like 70 CDs lol

Then there wouldn't be any need for national flags at all, surely.

In fact, in the 20 years since the war it's possible that the aliens would want to completely do away with them and surely the soldiers would be fighting under some sort of allied resistance flag anyway.
