Xenoblade Chronicles X - Review Thread

After reading the review, I understand why they wrote this as negative.

No real option to escape from battle
It seems the monsters bullied them a lot, lol.
Poor them XD

No real option to escape from battle

I think that's helpful to create the feeling that you're on a dangerous new planet and you need to be wary of the wildlife. The fact that you don't lose much progress from dying helps things to balance out IMO.

But you can run away from battle, you just need to run really fast/ Or there is an emergency escape command, but you need to survive 15 sec/ But I guess all of this is useless you you meet a level 90 who is ready to traverse all the map just to kill you

This kind of thing happened sometimes in Xenoblade Chronicles too. You could get insta killed by a high level monster that jumps into your fight.

It didn't happen much. It was usually not that big of a deal, but still annoying. Maybe it happens at a higher frequency in X.

So quick question, I pre-ordered this online at Best Buy for In-Store pick up, how exactly does it work? This is my first time doing it so im clueless. Do I just go in and say I have a pre-order? Cause I have no physical receipt to show them.

There's a line for pickups. I usually just show them the email on my phone and the card I payed with.

Amazon says my order shipped, and that it only cost me $20. Not sure what pricing error/flash sale/benefit thing happened there but I will take it!

That's what the reviewer felt : sense of danger even with the mecha XD

I'm still absolutely amazed at how well this game reviewed. It got a lot of 9s from a lot of big sites. It's absolute torture waiting for my order to ship.

I think Best Buy has shipped everyone's orders except mine. There's no way I could go pick the game up and then return one copy though, since I have the special edition. Unless I returned that, which would be dumb.

Guys I don't want to alarm you but tomorrow is the last day we will be Xenoblade X-less. What will the world be like post-Xenoblade X?

It'll be destroyed by aliens

Amazon gave me free shipping...I want it on time so I sent a message back saying so. Goddamn it Amazon, I'm taking days off for this.

Fear not, for I am the Lord of the Unshipped. Join me in this limbo, my friend, and we shall feast upon the Unshipped Roast, the Unsent Bread, and the Won't Deliver Pies. And when we drink our Nothing To Track Mead, then we shall know true fellowship. Onwards! To the Great Hall of Preparing for Shipping!

So I went shopping and there it was, the goddamn game looking at me on a shelf. Of course I had to be working the night-shift today...

Well, there's fun to be had tomorrow.

The lack of audio options is quite annoying. X suffers from the "the voices are too quiet compared to the background noise" syndrome.

I picked up somewhere (can't remember where, sorry) that it's not possible to have the game's audio come through the gamepad. As in, plug my headset into the gamepad and have all the game's audio come throught there (it's possible in all other games). Is this true?

It's .... kind of possible. When you activate Off TV Play the game will be mirrored on both the GamePad and TV screen, that way you'll have audio through the GamePad. You'll lose the GamePad map, though. I don't *think* it's possible otherwise.

Can I join you if the track number amazon provided me with doesn't exist in SEUR's database?

The mead and pies are so tempting.

Glad I cancelled my Amazon.fr LE, found the regular game at Mediamarkt this afternoon. These 3 days off will be put to great use!

Between Zestiria and this that's a lot of Caitlin Glass this year.

Good.

Yeah she's a talent, no problems here. There was really no better actress for Rose.

I'm kinda...not. I dunno, for some reason I think the series has the "works" for what sells in an overseas market.

Any word if Gamestop has shipped yet?? DDDD:

My copy is currently at the Nintendo World Store, where I pre-ordered it the day of the E3 presentation. Staring at the receipt as I type this. Whether I get it early or late depends on whether I get called in to work.

:
I mean, I get that they were trying to make a game that would appeal more to western tastes.
Still, it was their first open world game. Their first time focusing so fully on how the game felt and played rather than trying to tell a story.
The fact that it worked so well and they did it so flawlessly when western studios are still struggling is kind of astounding.
Monolith are definitely in a class of their own and I can't wait to see what they do next!

Amazon.ca hasn't shipped my two copies yet... really hope they don't arrive late. Tales of Zestiria and Rise of the Tomb Raider both arrived later than their release date.

A CSR on their chat assured me it'll arrive on Friday... we'll see.

Man this game, too awesome!

Scary though as a low level guy out there in the fields with pretty much everything being high level :D.

My hype for this game is bloody tangible. It has stopped me impulse buying a lot of games during the sales, I just wanna throw myself at this game....
