Xenosaga 4 I believe doesn't hit Xenogears points but it was supposed to be the first biggest jump (time wise). But yeah, I think either V or VI is the point in which Xenogears takes place.

Mitsuda rocks, but he was misused in Xenosaga I. I mean such an awesome composer and there were levels in the game without music? wtf is that about? :\Himuro said:

I have even the shitty ones and I still consider Xenosaga to be shit worst RPG series ever too much crap on story, mediocre gameplay I mean if they are going to make me spend more time watching than playing at least make a compelling story.

This might be more accurate. I enjoyed Episode 1, but Episode 2 just felt so rushed and terrible. The combat mechanics were far from realized, skill system was shit, and nothing really happened throughout the 20 hours or so the game lasted. I cried. I can only hope they make a halfway decent effort to tie up those MANY loose ends...but I'm not optimistic at this point.

Xenosaga Ep. 2 didn't even feel like Xenosaga 1.5...more like 1.2.

Wrong. The Miracle was ruined in the game.
By and large, the music was timed beautifully to the cutscenes. It was not, however, used well in game...which is where they f*cked up.

haha. i got xenogears and xenosaga pretty well. only a few things i didnt understand. i dunno. it didnt click. i was pretty hyped for it but it just left me sour. i have no idea why. how long is the game? i might start it up again

It's 20-25 hours. Just don't expect much in the way of plot development; the story really doesn't go anywhere. There is a lot of backstory involving the URTVs though.

It's sad. I was one of the biggest XSep1 fans in the world along with Duckroll, but yet ep2 destroyed the series so badly that I can't even bring myself to click on the links and wait until the trailer for ep3 loads. I'll import it on day1, but I really could care less at this point :\
I'm one of the few that was able to look past the horrible aspects of XS2 and really enjoy the rest of the game.
If you just kind of ignore the beginning of both CD's (especially the first half of CD2 which almost destroys the rest of the game), the game is quite good. Especially the ending to both CD's.

XS was disappointing garbage, almost chorelike at parts... and based on the reviews of XS2 I stayed as far away as humanely possible.
The new footage looks absolutely awesome. And even though Ep. 2 was really, really disappointing, I don't understand how you guys can't put that aside to get excited for this game. It's not as if it's 'just another entry', but rather Namco has given Monolith Soft one more game to finish up the series, and thusly they'll be craming Episodes 3, 4, 5 and 6 from Takahashi's outline into this one single game!
Sure they'll cut out some of the additional plot threads we haven't touched upon, but still, there is going to be a ton of content in Ep. III. XS easily has one of the most indepth, intelligent and mature narratives of any RPG ever made, and while it took a major hit of holy-shit-nothing-happened in Ep. II, I'm really excited about it finishing up.
