XSEED teasing new game(s)?

The main problem I see with it is the fact that its a PSP game.
So long as you go DD and don't expect huge numbers it seems to still be safe to release PSP games. Too bad some of the most deisrable games are in the hands of companies that don't want to license out, or are too costly to release.

I can't figure it out, other than the obvious Ys I + II.

I'll just say Valkyria Chronicles 3 because why not.

We're never getting that in English, are we?
Almost certainly not on PSP. Well, not physically anyway, at least the DD door's cracked open.

Honestly, I'm more worried about Zero and Ao. Not only do they need to get through the other two Trails in the Sky games, but those AREN'T on PC. Zero's got a Vita port at least and Ao's likely to get one too, while Sen's on PS3 and thus a bit safer, but it honestly is probably above and beyond what the likes of XSEED and Falcom can handle getting out in a timely manner unless they get some outside help and coordinate heavily, and I'm just guessing.

i'm slowly losing interest. i'm in the mood for some tight Ys gameplay right now.
I admittedly want more Falcom games period, if they can get stuff like Celceta, Xanadu Next, or Dinosaur Resurrection out way faster than Trails in the Sky 2 then by all means. Hell, maybe we'll get lucky and they go for the crazy option: Nayuta no Kiseki. At least it'll be a bone to throw to those that want more Trails even if the only blatant connection seems to be the story feel or something.
When Falcom rebrands a game for a new Windows OS, they rarely make any significant changes (if any at all). They usually just package all of the patches up to that point with the game.
Don't they ensure compatibility too? Still, that wouldn't really ensure anything but easy Steam release.

Yes, but it's generally guaranteed that any version of a game that has a later rebranding will work on the new OS, because they release patches. It would be pretty stupid if early adopters were screwed out of later OS compatibility, don't you think? And they never have been.

Yeah. XSEED just released Corpse Party: Book of Shadows. Aksys just released Ragnarok Tactics and announced a Hakuouki sequel. Somewhere in a cave, MonkeyPaw is quietly working away on Class of Heroes 2.

I'm inclined to think that Spike Chunsoft would have reasonable expectations for a PSP game in the US market at this point, given they're somewhat niche themselves. (Lots of English to Japanese localizations.)

Rumor also has it that Sony's basically thrown up their hands and said "do what you want" w/r/t minimum UMD print runs or the cost of printing UMDs or something similar that is making physical PSP releases in the US more tenable these days.

It's sort of weird that they'd pick Chronicles instead of Complete. A small part of me is hoping it's because they were able to update Complete somehow but I doubt it.

I think red 5 means 5 games, so...

- Ys I and II Steam (I or II)
- Ys Celceta (forest)
- Conception: Please Have My Baby (babies, isn't Spike localizing this game?)
- Killer is Dead (killer suit)
- Umineko/Steins;Gate/Fatal Frame II Wii? (these 3 have butterflies in them)

Zero (and soon Ao) got PC Chinese port. But I don't think we will ever get that far.

Sara said if she could, she would like to combine them into a version with the best of both. Basically Complete with Chronicles extras and better compatibility. Not guaranteed it worked out, of course.

And Dinosaur Resurrection isn't even done yet (has it even started?) so that is probably a long way off if they do release it.

Them publishing Steins would be the most awesome surprise ever. That's exactly why it isn't happening. 'Sides, last I heard Jast was in talks with 5bp

Huh, I was under the impression that wasn't the case, but I guess they just have to release patches to ensure it. Though my main intent there was that they advertise specifically that this version definitely works with Windows 8, doesn't sound like you'd need trouble for games already on Vista or 7.

Given all I've heard they'd be better off scrapping those and starting over. So I'm not counting them.

And... yeah, Ys V alone shows that Falcom doesn't have a flawless track record, but they've been good more often than not at least, in recent history anyway.

Yeah, I don't want to get my hopes any higher but they've handled these very well and Tom knows Complete is better than Chronicles on PC.

The red five clearly refers to Red Entertainment, and the five would be... uh...

never mind.
"What do you mean NISA struck that deal 4 years ago?"

Or maybe they have a fifth Tengai Makyou title to reveal! But that's in Konami's hands now so nope.

Yeah, only obvious ones to me are Killer is Dead (which we already because of XSEED registering websites) and Ys I & II Chronicles. I really do think the red five means 5 games, though.

Steins;Gate would make me ridiculously happy, but I don't really think there's much of a chance XSEED would bring that over. I mean, if they're unwilling to do all of the translation for TitS SC based on potential sales, I would think Steins;Gate would be pretty unlikely.

Steins; is actually pretty low risk. They could buy one of the already finished translations, patch it up, and put it out on Steam with 999 like expectations, and I think they'd be pretty damn happy with the return.

Has it been said how big the script for Steins;Gate is? It seems to me a lot of the problem with Trails int he Sky is that there's lots of towns people who change their dialogue after every relevant event. You cut all that out, and I imagine they would've thrown Trails in the Sky 2 out in just half a year after the original game. And visual novels don't exactly have you running around talking to dozens of people either.

Checked the website that shows what sites are registered by XSEED, and found two that seemed to be for Killer is Dead, and two more that were registered about two days after KiD:
l _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ l.com
p _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ i.com

Not much to go on, and it could be nothing, but there you go.

Isn't prison fortress a reference to Pandora's Tower? That's been officially announced, so I'm not sure what all they're actually teasing that's new.

Unless they picked up Criminal Girls somehow. edit: Nah, that doesn't work since I believe they're trying to get out of hell in that game, not a prison.

p _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ i.com
PandorasTowerWii.com, I believe.

- Umineko/Steins;Gate/Fatal Frame II Wii? (these 3 have butterflies in them)

I'd be happy with any of these but the most likely candidate of the choices there is Steins;Gate and Fatal Frame II because of reasons. I would love Umineko PS3 in English though since I already have the Japanese editions.

making babies with dragons and butterflies, they're localising monster monpiece?

seriously though
plus sized = HD?
plus sized babies = Trails in the Sky
so TiTS 1 and 2 HD?

or just wishful thinking

crazy thoughts

Someone was shopping for Steins;Gate console a while back and Fatal Frame II requires almost no work. I actually expect to be disappointed and have it be something else entirely though.

I remember that. I don't think they'd do the console route if they do it, though.

"I or II plus-sized babies":

I wonder, could the plus-sized thing be in reference to the "Plus" games on the Vita? Like Atelier Totori Plus or Atelier Meruru Plus? Both of those involve girls that look like children (i.e. "plus sized babies"). Can't see how they would localize either one since I think NISA has the rights locked in, unless NISA isn't interested in the Vita ports and they struck a deal. Hmm.

GOD I am hoping for Rune Factory 4!! After playing RF3, RF4 is one of my most hyped 3DS games. I was blown away by how good 3 was. Day one purchase.

Well, most likely Tecmo Koei would release them, but that basically means theres two walls when there's other targets to hunt.

Ive heard that Ys I&II Chronicles PC were bad ports, but recently Falcom is going to release new versions of some Ys games for Windows 8 compatibility. Hope they at least fix the issues on this one and get an updated version.

I also have a very very wild theory about "five" but Im not sure about that. In fact, I highly doubt XSEED would go after such title considering the genre. Im not getting my hopes on that one.

Once upon a time a man in a killer CELCETA was tasked by a great dragon to make I or II plus-sized CELCETAs with some night butterflies in a prison fortress that stood in the middle of a large CELCETA, but he forgot his task five times. The dragon was steaming mad, and the man subsequently was CELCETA paid. That's what you get when you have a bad memory.

The CELCETA.

Guys! I'm pretty sure it's Celceta!

:D
