I can't get over it! I friggin' love XTC! I only have heard their greatest hits cd "Upsy Daisy Assortmant" but I love every track on it. I've been told "Skylarking" is their best album so that's going to be on my want list. What else is a must buy?

I honestly think XTC might end up on my top 5 favorite bands list maybe even dethroning the Talking Heads and The Smiths (na, probably not).

Yeah, me too. Those two and Skylarking are my three favorites. I haven't listened to quite as much of their earlier stuff, though.

XTC are great. Definitely one of my all-time favorite bands. Skylarking, Oranges and Lemons, Nonsuch, and Apple Venus Vol. 1 are my favorites, but I don't recall hearing an album of theirs I didn't like.

I'll go ahead and reveal how old I am by saying that I saw XTC open for the Police in Baton Rouge in the early 80s. Of course, that was before Andy Partridge gave in to his stage fright and decided to stop touring. They really are one of the most underrated pop bands ever, and it is crime what Virgin did to that band for more than a decade. For those of you interested in some of Andy's solo work, he did the theme song to The Wonderfalls, which is a nice little gem of a song and can be bought on iTunes for $.99. If you like XTC, preview it and I'll bet you'll dig it.

Two of my favorite bands that will never perform live again! Shit.

Skylarking, English Settlement, Black Sea, Apple Venus and Wasp Star are all great.

Those last two are their most recent albums, and I think they've still got it (or perhaps, they got it back). It didn't hurt that Andy and Colin had several years of non-publishing to write songs.

My wife is a big fan of Nonsuch, also, but I don't like it as much. can't get into Big Express or Drums and Wires.

Welcome to the club. Though I only own Upsy Daisy, I love it to death. One of the greatest "Best of" compilations ever.

Oh, forgot to mention that I love the Dukes of Stratosphear as well (ie, XTC with a defferent name).

I can't find fault with any of their albums (except maybe Go 2, and even that has a few good moments). The Big Express is actually one of my faves, I think it's underrated even though the production is a bit dated. Apple Venus Vol 1 is really uneven, but the highs are some of their best stuff, Easter Theatre in particular.

Bottom line, they're my favorite group, and I question the taste of anyone that does not like Black Sea or Skylarking. The Dukes Of Stratosphear releases are pretty awesome too.
