Ah. I thought that was kind of how the storylines of the games go, or at least 3 and 4 were more like that which I was completely okay with. I played through all of the localized ones and the only one I was iffy on was Dead Souls. Otherwise I enjoyed all of them.
Shenmue?

still got a sour taste in my mouth from Yakuza 4 but I'll jump on this.
Why?
Can't wait. Already have an OT banner in the works, too.
(And the thread title.)

Filming? Does that mean they're only starting to localize the game now?
there is nothing that sucks about Y5 being localized.I don't download games though. This sucks.
Any chance of an Asian English physical release of Yakuza 5 ala Oreshika 2?
Seriously. People were being laughed at when hoping for localization. So many moved on, including myself.there is nothing that sucks about Y5 being localized.
Almost none, the game has been released a long time ago in Asia.Any chance of an Asian English physical release of Yakuza 5 ala Oreshika 2?
Since it's been out for months unlike Oreshika 2, I'm leaning towards 'no chance'.
Nagoshi....his face looks weirder and weirder every time I see it...

Just give me a damn solid release date so I can book time off work.
That Twitter message is from April 20th, mentioning that then "the long road of translations & editing begins".
I think that is in reference to the video interview they just conducted for the game.
Again, I imagine the effort to translate everything and clearing the rights is why the game is taking a while to be released. There is a lot to do in this game (including the Another Drama stuff for each character), not to mention they might have to replace instances of the licensed songs from Kyosuke Himuro/GOSPELS OF JUDAS used in cutscenes and a boss battle.save for Akiyama
P.S. Akiyama is awesome in this game, even if he's sporting that goofy product placement watchthat was also the focus of a blatant substory.
this is ridiculousdont want to support a practice where i dont really [own] my games
I always found it weird thatAkiyama never got a another drama mode, I'd have imagined either some sort of Lone Shark mode or club management, but that was pretty well covered in 4
I don't remember that side story for Akiyama, I do remember the cringe worthy one in Dead Souls though which revolved around Detective Date.shilling some kind of shaving razor. The dialogue for that was hilariously terrible
I was also not prepared for the naked Yakuza ass.
I hope Sony also help localise Yakuza 0! My dream would come true!
Are you talking about Ishin's/ Unless you mean in Yakuza 5 wheresecond boss battle. That cracked me up so much..the boss of the Osaka talent agency is doing press ups naked for some reason
For Yakuza 5, I'm just looking forward to playing through the game again in English, so I get a better grip on the overall story. I was ok with most things bar Shinida's story, which while.feeling unrelated to the main game is still pretty cool when its all said and done. I really did feel bad for him in the end after watching KHH Subs translated cutscenes
Only thing I don't look forward to redoing is theoptional fight against Komaki and his grandson. What an insanely one sided fight if your using Shinida, I basically lucked out in the end. Amon wasn't much easier either with him.
I'm keeping my thoughts on the story to myself for now, but I will say that I loved the loan collector in Shinada's story, totally not the character I was expecting at first.

actually, i'd say this's about as weird as it's ever gotten, & involved surgery/injections - looks like something produced by an rpg character creator. depressing...
When I did a fresh game on EX-hard, I just used 3-4 broken 1985m shotguns for Shinada, they rarely dodge out of way and can shoot them on the ground.
I REALLY wanna play the Yakuza games on PS3 but just never got around to them. Are they good? They seem so immersive and involving.
I've had both 3 and 4 and even Dead Souls on my backlog which one should I start at? I played a bit of 3 and watched the recap from 1 and 2 but I didn't play anymore than the grave scene at the beginning. Other games and commitments keep coming but I feel I'm too late now and missed out on the party? I know they are not short games either and the completion its inside me will want to do everything.

Will I miss loads of stuff if I start at 4?

If this does well enough to get Ishin here, and it had damn well better or I BLAME YOU GAF, I will cry.
