I second this as well. All this talk about not supporting it because of digital only is really sad.
Most people saying this probably will buy it anyway, or will likely be few enough in number not to really matter. It sucks as being digital only locks some people out, like those with heavy bandwidth limits, but ultimately I can see why publishers make the decision with niche games like Yakuza. If DD cuts out enough publishing costs to make bringing out small games like this viable, I'm totally OK with that.

Or the japanese subtitle could also work: The one who grants dreams.

I've only played 4. I don't regret it at all. I quite certain it's the best open world crime game I ever played.
I am a little unsure about how to proceed with the series. I'm going to buy and play Yakuza the day it comes out. That's for sure.
The part I'm usure about it is the first 3 yakuza games. Considering Y5 is actually coming out, I'm wondering if I should wait after playing it with the hopes a HD version of Y1 and Y2 surface rather than try to find ps2 copies.

Go ahead and play them. I would say 1+2 HD have almost zero chance of ever making it out in the west. The best we can hope for at this point is that 5 does well enough that they localize Zero and all mainline games going forward.
The most I can dare to hope for at this point is that an eventual Yakuza 6 gets localized. I could easily see Zero being seen as a side thing and not being localized, as much as I think that's BS. Controlling my expectations so I can curb with eventual disappointment.

To be honest, I meant it in more of a positive sense. The idea is that it's insane that we are getting this game after all that's happened with the series in the west. Having said that, I do understand how you would see it differently given some of the posts in the thread.

They love their exclusive franchises.

So now that Sony isn't above Kickstarter, I feel like they really should do one for Yakuza Ishin's localization.
Would be nice, I know there's no chance of us getting it otherwise. Just like Kenzan, they probably think it's "too Japanese" even though a game about the fucking Yakuza apparently isn't.

I don't know, developing a long awaited sequel vs localizing a spin-off game is a bit different.
If anything, Yakuza 5 is the Kickstarter for any future localizations.
I just hope for Zero at this point. If we can somehow just keep getting the main Yakuza stuff, I will be very happy.
I also don't think Isshin could get close to 2 million. Yakuza fan base is dedicated, but Isshin is a side thing and I honestly don't think we're as dedicated as we think we are.
