I'll post this here.

I'd like another good Batman book.

I have Batman: Year One, Dark Knight Returns, The Long Halloween, The Killing Joke, Dark Victory... and.... *ugh* Dark Knight Strikes Again. Any recommendations?

Actually, it looks like he's only fighting the circle from Identity Crisis. I think it's safe to think that he's found out about things now;)

Oh and OMAC looks badass, satellite that observes all the leagues moves and secrets. Should be quite interesting!

Batman's about to pwn the JLA all over again...

Good for him! I hope he kicks all their asses, Deathstroke -style. :D
How many times will Batman have to kick JLA's ass? He even does it second hand when he's not trying.

Wellington: I'd read the "No Man's Land" series. Its uneven, but the good stories are excellent. Its also a decent introduction into the current Batman.

While not necessarily Batman only, read JLA: Tower of Babel, one of the best novels, IMO, and really cool look at Batman:)

Batman wise, Child of Dreams was also quite cool.

Tamanon: Yeah, but you've gotta figure that if the current JLA tries to interfere, he'll put them in traction as well. Smackdowns for everybody! Nobody does that to the Bat!

:D

Wellington: I dunno, I think you've covered all the bases... Batman: Arkham Asylum, maybe? I second the recommendation for Tower of Babel, if only so that one can see just how badly Batman could f*ck up the rest of the DCU if he really wanted to. Child of Dreams is... interesting, in an "off" kind of way.

Anybody read Death and the Maidens?

Batman vs. Predator 1
Arkham Asylum
Catwoman: Dark End of the Street
Robin: Year One

and Death in the Family, because it's so got-darn funny.

I'd recommend DC: The New Frontier Volume One. Not because it's a great Batman story, but just because it's a great comic book story.

But yeah, Batman's in the book...

Yep, Batman is really laying the smack down on those SECOND STRINGER DINGLEBERRIES.

I guess this is the build up to the much anticipated Batman Vs. Aquaman cross over?!

The whole Batman as an anti-social twat tarted up like a candy bar is beyond played out. In fact, it's more stale than saying "played out" in 2005.

If the DC Comics were Gaming Age, Batman would have been perm-banned long ago. :lol

God damn YOU Frank Miller. You started this whole fucking mess.

I'm morbidly curious about Kia Assamiya's Batman book. I really wasn't keen on his Joker at first, but then Jim Lee came along and did a smashing job of making it look stellar by comparison. :X

You are really f'n doing your best to hate on characters that I like today aren't you?

If there is one thing I hope is addressed from IC is that whole messing with Bruce's mind bit.

Oh hell, you're an Aquaman fan too?!

You've just got a strange attraction to blonde Caucasians, and not of the bishoptl - please god ! Make it stop covering Bobby Brown variety. :lol

"Hey there, Fish Cracker!" :p

Aqua... heck no.. I've never read that book... I took your post as a slam at Batman dood... ;)

Oh, I was being facetious. ;)

Nah - I used to read Batman Adventures just fine, until the cancelled it in favor of BATMANIME! Or Batty Chan Adventures. Whatever the fuck.

The nice thing about the animated series is that there were rules, so I didn't have to worry about some silly cunt coming in with "his creative vision" of Batman, and fucking the look of the book all up.

I'm just a little tired of the fixation on Frank Miller's bat concepts. If you don't want Batman playing nice with the other morons in the DCU, then for the love of god - don't pair him up with them. Don't you have enough villains without indirectly turning one of your icons into one?

I thought the anti-hero schtick died in the late 80's.

This whole screwball concept of the sandbox comic universe is for the birds.

Which is sort of why I appreciate Image so many years after they've seperated the wheat from the chaff. They don't try to force Dragon to play nice with Spawn. They're different books that just so happened to be published by the same company. What a novel concept!

Well Bruce is definitely a fish out of water when he's with JLA... which is why I usually don't read JLA... I like him just fine in his own family of books.

I seem to recall Grant Morrison doing a good job of intergrating Bats into the JLA without hitting the Miller cock too hard. I believe it was Mark Waid that set up and executed the whole Batman scheming against the JLA thing.

I could be misremembering though. It's been ages. :X
