I finally beat this game two nights ago. Damn, I haven't played a game that challenging and frustrating/fun since Shinobi (ps2). I first started playing it about a year or so ago and set it to Adult. I'd gotten stuck on the boss gauntlet. Of all the repeat bosses, Another Joe game me the most trouble. Of course, once I beat him I didn't turn off my gamecube because I knew I couldn't (at the time) do it again. But I just love how it brings it back to the megaman days of memorizing the boss patterns and fast reflexes. So, I unlocked Sylvia and started her story. WTF? It's it gibberish with subtitles. heh. Is this how they did Dante's story in the ps2 version? Now I could finally play part (which I bought when it was first released :/). One thing's got me confused, though. Captain Blue said that there'll be two more times in which the world will need saving. Is this referring to sequels or the different stories for Sylvia and Alastor?

I just beat kiddie version after not playing VJ for a long time. Awesome final battle. Need to beat Adult so I can use Sylvia. Also, need to find VJ2 cheap.

Does anyone have a wallpaper or such of the final scene of the ending, with all the characters on screen? The "Everybody loves a hero, Everybody loves you" part.

Both games are $20 now right? I should really just snag em both for the PS2 sometime. I sold the first VJ so long ago, and I have been sort of itching to give the series a second chance.

I just got Viewtifull Joe PS2 for 9.89$CAN at my local EBgame. I'm gonna try it later tonight. I wish you guys share some impression you had from this game.

as good as VJ was. No save point between the 4 bosses and fire leo makes this game = teh suck.

I jest of course. Its been so long since I played VJ that I doubt that I'd be able to dive right in and continue the game from where I left off. Good game. Support Clover + capcom

I loved VJ on the cube. I'll definately pick up its sequel one of these days.
The question begs: Do I grab VJ2 for Gamecube or PS2?

You start on GCN, you end on GCN. IT JUST MATCHES.

Actually playing VJ2 finally myself and I'm near the end and it's kinda sad cause the game is just so much weaker than VJ.

VJ2 lacks the awesome boss fights (most of the bosses were just 'dodge move and counter with RHOH'), lacks the challenge (for most normal enemies you don't even have to dodge->counter, just run up and RHOH), and the addition of Silvia was pointless and I never use her. Also the level designs are weaker and the game lacks a lot of the style of the original. It's a decent action beat-em up, but VJ was one of the best action games I've ever played so it's a bit of a letdown. I guess you just can't follow up a Kamiya game.

I got the first VJ when it first came out for the Cube and played it a lot. I found most of the game to not be very hard except for the bosses... i'd have to replay them over and over agan.

There was this one boss that really gave me a hard time, I decided to take a break from this game after that... I just never had the chance to do so, and it's been well over a year... I tried a few months ago but i'm rusty at it, I bet i'd probably need to start over to get used to it again. I just don't have the time, I'll get back to it one of these days.
