YMMV - official PSOne screens cheap at TRU. 20 bucks!

Thanks for the info. $20, that's it?! And I've got $10 Geoffrey dollars burning a hole in my pocket. I know where I'm headed tomorrow. If I had read this thread sooner, I could've pick one up after going out to dinner with the fiancee. I drove right past TRU......
 
Gotta ask again, can this LCD output a progressive picture? That would up its value exponentially. It is 640x480, right? PEACE.
 
The TRU I visited here in the Bay Area had a whole bunch of em' for $21.95 apiece. So I got one, yay!

Now I have to get an actual PSOne system.... :P

TRU in Maryland here sold it for 25.98

Bought 4, sold 2 on ebay for 50 bucks a pop. Life est indeed good :P
 
My local Toys R Us has tons of LCD screens for $28. They had one last combo pack for $79, so I picked up an LCD screen for my PS One and a combo pack. Not too shabby, although I wish the combo pack was $50 like the stories I've been hearing on Cheapassgamer.com

The local Wal-Mart still sells the LCD screens for $130. It's really tempting to buy some more from Toys R Us and return them to Wal-Mart. I wouldn't feel quite right though, but that's a $100 profit. :/

It's intended to be a portable LCD, of course it's going to be small. That doesn't change the fact that it still looks pretty impressive and is an absolute steal at $20. I think I'll swing by TRU tomorrow and see if they have any in my area.

I pretty much forgot that I had my PSOne and LCD shoved in a drawer somewhere. This post has made me want to find a use for the screen, I'm just not sure what. Maybe I'll hook it up to my computer via TV-out and use it as a secondary display for audio visualizations or something...

No shit. I went to Montgomery Blair.

But it was the G'burg store on 355. You might have some luck with the one off of University near the Taco Bell. They tend to have a lot of random older stock.

Thanks again, just picked one up. There's still at least 6 of them on the shelves. I was gonna grab two but I didn't. Glad the bs $6 recycling fee wasn't tacked on either. Now to get some cables and hook them up to something...

It's all good. I was just able to acquire a PSOne. Now to hook them up and enjoy Capcom fighters on the go....yay! :D
 
Bad news for the canucks. I finally made a trip to the TRU in Thornhill today (near Yonge & Steeles) and while they had like, 4 of them, they were priced at 90.91 CAD (~73.78 USD). I even got the guy at the register to check the price, but no luck.
 
My local TRU (Durham, NC) had two left in stock for 27 bucks. I went ahead and snagged one and was pleased to find new copies of Soul Caliber II for the PS2 for three bucks a pop. Thirty dollars well spent! My PSOne has now been tranformed into a portable Symphony of the Night machine. I've got it sitting next to me as I type and it works like a charm. Woo!

What Capcom fighters were available on PS that were playable?

I remember Marvel vs Capcom...ugh..load times...shitty versus mode...blah.
 
I grabbed one today, there were two left after that.

Already have a psOne w screen combo (got it when GS dropped the price to 50 used) but I let some one else use it most of the time, so I was hoping to pick it up as a portable screen for my GC. Need some cables now.

Also picked up sphinx and the mummy and RECVX (4$ and 6$).
