You favorite Puzzle game?

Lumines.
Mr. Driller.
Puyo Pop.
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo.
Tetris.

edit:

Bombastic!
Bust A Move / Puzzle Bobble.

I seriously can't stop playing Lumines. And I'm sure Meteos will find itself on that list, as well.

We had a thread about this a few weeks ago, I believe.

Anyway...

1. Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
2. Tetris Attack
3. TetriNET

Isn't Tecmo stackers a Puyo Puyo variant? I think I played a demo, and didn't like the altered mechanics.

For me:

One-player

Tetris
Devil Dice (which is really several games with simalr mechanics)
Puzzle Bobble ne Bust-A-Move

Two-player

Puyo Puyo

Yeah, we sort of did this thread before here and here.

But there can never be enough discussion of good puzzle games :)

Go Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo + Tetris Attack!

Puzzle mode in Devil Dice ROCK'D! I bought Bomblastic for PS2(Devil Dice 2), not as good as the first, but I will say Advance mode is WACK.

EDIT: Should I LOCK this Thread then? Don't wanna re-hash too much.

Fire and Ice (NES)
Mario Picross (GB) strangely left me wanting more.
Kickle Cubicle (NES) action puzzler
Klonoa: EoD
Dr. Mario
Daedalian Opus (GB)
Devil Dice
Solomon's Key (NES)
Pokemon Puzzle League (N64)
Tetrisphere was cool.
Load Runner 3D, kinda.
Wordtris (SNES)- not.
Boggle Plus (GB) yes!
Bookworm (GBA) pretty good

and of course Tetris, as the beaver.

The Incredible Machine Series are some of my favourite games ever - anyone who remotely likes puzzles should check them out.

Also Deadly Rooms of Death.

I mostly like puzzles games where you have to progress through different (pre-designed) levels getting harder and harder, not the type with falling blocks or randomness or anything. Any other recommendations of this type?

Tetris 2 + Bombliss. (That's the title, it's ONE game.)
If you can find the NES ROM, try Bombliss Puzzle mode.
Crazy amount of thinking in that mode.

Chu Chu Rocket
Sega Swirl (cuz it's free dammit.)
Tetris
Tetrinet
Dr. Mario
Puzzle Bobble/Bust A Move
Bombastic

Tetris
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
Intelligent Cube
Devil Dice
Lumines

Difficult to narrow it down to just one.

geez, almost no love?

MagicalDrop3.jpg

It was the old school Puyo Puyo ever since I layed my hands on it (HATE Puyo Pop Fever) But I've recently discovered Magical Drop 3 and this has proclaimed the title of best puzzle game ever.

Runners up: Puyo Puyo, Tetrisphere

Devil Dice has a 100-puzzle mode
Puzzle Bobble
Roll Away
Chu Chu Rocket

Vexed on palm handhelds (and it's free!)

Wetrix is the neglected stepchild of all those Tetris knockoffs. It was my favorite puzzle game of the previous gen--no other game I played was as good at inducing a total trance state at high levels.

Bombastic is probably the best puzzle game I've played this gen.

Wetrix WAS really nice. The graphics were wonderful too.

1. Super Street Fighter II Turbo
2. Bust a Move (particularly the NGPC one...more playtime on that than any GB-GBA game I own)
3. Tetris
4. Tetris Attack
5. Some Saturn tetris/puyo like game with animals as blocks IIRC...only played it once but it was great fun against others (now that I remember this, I guess that means that I have seen an actual Saturn a total of twice in my life)

Kickle Cubicle is pretty cool, props to whoever said that

I also love the Adventures of Lolo games, and Wrecking Crew if you can consider the latter a puzzler of sorts...

Best: Xi Go, but only by a hair. Xi Jumbo actually offers more stuff, it's just that Xi Go lets you play as all 3 games in the series, in a sense.

Most Overrated: Tetris Attack (which I'm not terribly fond of), followed closely by Puzzle Fighter (which I like but is pretty sloppy overall).
