Man, the whole concept of a school competitions in *spelling* is so strange and bizarre to me (in my native language, the letters in words are are always pronounced the exact same way no matter what word, and how something is spelled becomes unmistakably obvious the moment the word is pronounced...)
OK, it's a small thing, but having competitions in something I took for granted my whole time in school, makes me feel like English language is from another planet or something :\
