I thought it would be fun to see what goals you may set for yourself for next year and come back next December to see how you did!

Maybe not entirely "new years resolutions" likes although they can be, but maybe there's something you've been putting off. Ninja gaiden master ninja completion? Level 1 dark souls completion? Finish a specific game from the back log?

For myself:
Complete Megaman 1-11
Complete Half Life 2
Complete Witcher 3

Lastly buy only 6 games for myself in 2026 or less, on release. Currently the 6 I'm thinking will be RE9, Onimusha, Marathon, Saros, Wolverine, and GTA6.

I think the hardest goal for me here will be finishing Witcher 3 tbh.

In 2026, my goal is to play more of the old classics I've missed out on, instead of always chasing new releases or getting distracted by deals that I only buy because they're 50% off. Also, I've started Elden Ring and I'd really love to finish it.

P.S - I already have it in my collection, even though I'm not a big fan of Pixelremaster, they didn't include all the bonus content from PSP and GBA releases.
It's not critical, but I'd like to see it in such a product, otherwise it might get lost in history...

Yep. I completed FF1 on PSP and I think I played 3 on DS, but never finished. This will be a first play through for all 6.

Oddly enough, this is actually quite common. This is especially true for the first FF games, it's rare for anyone to play every single one. Especially if that's not their goal. And the fact that someone at Square Enix decided it would be funny to sell Final Fantasy VI as Final Fantasy III in North America doesn't help at all.

Level 1 Dark Souls is a very fun challenge if you're a big souls fan OP. There's enough broken things in the game to take advantage of that it's not as absurd as it sounds.

Hmm well, I want to progress through the Trails series. The Third, Zero and Azure should be enough trails blazed for one year.

I also want to play through FFXV at some point. I dropped it pretty early on and it feels kind of like I never gave it a shot.

I'd also like to make time for Rogue trader.

But I'm not gonna take any such commitment too seriously though. A bit of structure can be good but gaming is for fun so if I suddenly on a whim want to obsessively replay old games instead then that's what I'll do

My son beat Dark Souls on level one. I thought he was crazy but yeah, it is doable

Try to further expand my gaming "tastes"

Last year tried E33 and LOVED it despite never being into turn based games. Also really enjoying Arc Raiders despite not generally playing online shooters hardly ever.

May 2026 bring more titles for me to enjoy from genres I've generally stayed away from without a 2nd thought

My resolution for 2026 is trying to play more games with my son ... my daughter is at an age that she dosent care to spend time with me anymore, and my 12y son loves my company and playing games with me ... but my work takes too much time and mental concentration that when I get home Ive to admit that I tend to do "what I want" to decompress , and play my games and do my things..

Pretty soon he too wont give two fucks about myself and I'll for sure regret this time Im loosing being selfish with my time.

Im a great dad dont get me wrong.. but we can always do better.

The main one for me is to try and play more DS/3DS games since I will have nice hardware for it with Thor.

I also need to get my Vita updated to newer software modules since I haven't touched any of the ones I have for over a year.

And I need to stop buying shit for the backlog since as it is I have a lot more games vs the time to play them.
